The rights to the Beatles catalogue went up for sale when the band split, and it was bought by Lew Grade. He eventually sold them to Wacko Jacko, and they are more than likely up for renewal in 2010. I think you can only hold onto them for a certain time before you have to either sell or re-negotiate a fresh bid. But don't quote me on that!

I think Jacko only bought the rights until 2010 then they come up for sale gain. I read that Sony Music hasfirst refusal for them next year.

Jacko lied and said he left them to Paul McCartney in his will, but that's not true.

I wish they did go up for sale and Paul could get them back. After all he wrote, composed and performed them - he DESERVES them. It's actually Yoko Ono's fault they didn't get them to begin with (before Jacko bought them). If only he could get justice this time round and buy them back.

I think he should get them too. I read on a Rolling Stone article that him wanting to reverse Lennon-McCartney to McCartney-Lennon was false. He only wanted it to say that when it's written as By John Lennon and Paul McCartney, which he wants as By Paul McCartney and John Lennon. Which is fair enough I suppose. It's supposedly due to a song book he saw in a restaurant which had Blackbird in it, they wrote at the end, Written by John Lennon and left his name out. I suppose that would annoy you.

It would also be nice if he got them back in 2010, he is getting on.
