Not it is not.

Up until about 12 years ago they didn't have 11 hours of wall to wall coverage on the first two days.

I wouldn't call it appaling, but it's now the only major not in HD, and I assume most if not all European Tour and PGA Tour events are now in HD (even if a feed isn't available in the UK)

HD isn't an issue for me though, I can vastly improve my PQ of any sporting event by putting in contact lenses

Even in the 80's we were getting Thursday & Friday coverage from 9.30 in the morning until about 7.

The only thing that has changed is it's now in widescreen.

You stated you wanted to open a thread about the golf. However there is already a thread going and on opening your thread you offered absolutely no opinion on the golf at all and simply pointed out that the golf starts in a couple of days. If your going to start a discussion then fair enough but at least offer an opinion on which the discussion can take place around.
