I like Phil Tufnell but I don't think he would take it seriously. I saw him a show before where him and his mates had to do some kind of building project and he just kept strolling off and leaving the work to everyone else.
He seemed very lazy and didn't have much of an attention span so I feel sorry for the professional dancer that gets lumbered with him.

As someone said earlier, his nickname from his cricket days of The Cat wasn't anything to do with sporting ability, basically he could, and would, fall asleep anywhere - if he is doing it and he gets someone like Erin or Lilia there'll be blood

Whilst a fine, fine bowler, his batting and fielding was err, ummm, not that good (which is putting it kindly), and having seem him worse for wear on more then one occassion, I've big doubts about his natural coordination and footwork.

He is 6'2 - I think he'd need a strong hand to handle him

Would be quite happy with Tuffers, and he'd most likely keep it fun and lively backstage on a Saturday night! (Thought the atmosphere seemed a bit flat last year, personally). Think Erin would be more than up to the challenge, so I would like to see him dance with her if he does it. Should think he'd be a good partner in terms of already having a reasonable fanbase, and audience knowing who he is... Will be great to find out how many of these rumours are true!

I hope it's just a rumour, and I woulden't think she would in the state of her family currently

As for tuffers though I would be THRILLED, and I would like both him & adrian on this years as I know adrian originally from MOTD2 and Your fired, and tuffers as being an excellent cricketer and QOS

It's been reported earlier this week in one of the tabloid newspapers that the gorgeous Laila Rouass is set to appear on this years 'Strictly Come Dancing'.

Now this would be fantastic news, she has been on my wish list for quite a while.... BUT i have a feeling i will be left dissapointed.

I hardly think it would be a case of 'one or the other'?

They are from totally different backgrounds, different ages etc.

You never know though, the way names are coming out over the past few days, I think there might be about 56 celebs in this years show

If they are looking for a new 'fun' angle to the show then Tuffers may prove to be an ideal contestant, but will probably be out after a couple of weeks. I'm looking forward to him being critisised by the judges and shrugging his shoulders and saying Happy Days, it will defuse a lot of bad feeling and I can imagine the judges having a problem about what to do with him, which should prove interesting.

Personally I'm more worried about Fern Britton, I have a feeling she will take everything ultra seriously and will use the programme to try and revive her flagging fanbase.

Strictly seem to be struggling this year to sign up any half decent contenders- unlike last year, when there were quite a few good ones from the start. Some of the rumoured celebs for this year are obvious no-hopers and will be gone early. In our house we love to see the ones who DO take it seriously and have loads of commitment- it is a competition and the ones that treat it as a laugh let their Pro dancers down, resulting in them being out too soon. Why go on the show if you don't give it 100 % !
