Geoffrey Boycott took more interest though..he was quite taken with Lilia

Bet they've asked Flintoff..I wonder if his knees/hips/ankles can stand it?

Andy Flintoff is 6ft 4

Reece Dinsdale is about 5ft 10

Seeing them beside each other would be like seeing Rachel and Jodie standing next to each other!

Quite- if it is true about Reece then he could be a possible for Lilia, Erin or Ola

Bless Jodie - standing next to anybody last year

As Alesha isn't doing the back stage run - perhaps she could, I loved Jodie last year

Jodie was so sweet and self deprecating- she was my favourite out of the ladies- though I really warmed to Cherie who was classy

I agree with you footygirl about Jodie and Cherie.

I like the idea of Reece. I'd have thought that there is a reasonable chance that he could be a good dancer (although you never can tell), even though he's nearing 50 and he looks reasonably fit. It would be nice to have an older male contestant who can actually last a while.

As for the discussions about cricketers. I'd be happy with any of them (as someone who likes the sport) although I agree that Shane Warne would probably struggle!

Cherie and Stephanie - such classy ladies, the GBP just don't have a clue sometimes....

I think Reese could be a laugh - he was good at comedy when he was younger.

I've said it before but the one thing that would stop me watching SCD is if Sharon Osborne was one of the celebs.

Especially now that we won't even be compensated for her being on SCD by watching Arlene tear her apart!

I really can't stand Sharon and I'd rather have anybody else than her.

Alan Carr, JLC, Rob Brydon would be good. JLC was on the original spin off show, there's clips of it on Youtube including him dancing with Len Goodman!

Melanie C couldn't - she has dance teaching qualifications. Geri will doubtless get the nonsense arguments Emma got about experience but Geri is acknowledged as being the least dance enabled Spice Girl - flatfooted Spice.

Paul O'Grady would win by a mile as I suspect he shares the same audience demographics as SCD.

Halliwell will also get Bruno and Craig fawning all over her while the public vote against her (in other words, Emma Bunton). Shepherd has (I think?) previous dance experience - just wait for the threads to start springing up.

Overall, unimaginative and predictable. It actually looks like a parody of previous line-ups.

Must try harder!”

Almost everyone who appears on Scd is doing it to restart their career or move it on. Alesha and John Sargeant being two obvious examples. Geri is one of the few who doesn't need a restart - she isn't singing any more, her interests seem to be keeping her busy and she has more money even than Brucie. She doesn't even need publicity - she just has to go out for a jog to get a tabloid front page.

Doubtless we will get the dame arguments we had with Emma and as they were iilogical last time they will be even less logical when applied to Geri whose dancing is a standing spice Girls joke.

I can't see the argument about Moyles . True he turns up everywhere for his own ego massaging reasons but he's no different in that respect than Paul o'Grady or Alan Carr or Jonathan Ross or Graham Norton - or indeed any other presenter wanting to do something more interesting.

Halliwell may not need a new career - but her behaviour and manner make it very plain that she is desperate to be liked. George Michael has even taken the p*** out of her in public for it. Alesha wasn't desperate and in any case had an entirely different profile; she also didn't talk in full about what had gone on before SCD until the show had ended. I would wager that she didn't then have her own personal publicist - something Halliwell cannot thrive without.

If Moyles makes it on to SCD, I predict he'll be the next John Sergeant. You have been warned ...

According to this Geri Halliwell's trying to crack the US, so she might be more likely to do DWTS than SCD.

I hadn't heard she was being considered for DOI but it won't be final yet - they're still only auditioning celebs at this stage.

Do you have the source, btw? I'm an enormous DOI fan and I'd love to see it

EDIT: Never mind, I just found it

Should we have another chef I'd quite like to see Nigella, Angela Hartnett, Ross Burden or Gino D'Campo (sp).

Apologies if this has been posted already, have looked but couldn't see anything.

Another one to rule out: from Ben Fogle's Twitter:

Had to say no to Strictly as I'll be in Papua New Guinea. How annoying is that.
7:34 PM Jul 10th from web

So looks like he was interested in taking part.
