Alison Hammond to win on fit club.
Vilt UK
17-01-2004
Constructive criticism for a predetermined body type.

Before I forget I saw this earlier and think that Ally will win here.
At the moment she is the least well known of them all-both with the public(anyone over 30 probably does not know who she is) and with the other fit clubbers.(hence picked last/first rule of fit club- do not talk about fit club)
But my guess is in a few weeks she will be best mates with all of them-she is a lovely person and the most normal-the others will have spats among themselves but I do not think with her unless she feels she has to protect someone.(or they see her as a threat)
So she will come out of it well regarded.

How do you win this anyway? I could not work it out?

Based on what? Most people I know would avoid her like the plague.

As for winning, perhaps its a Got to loose/actually lost weight ratio thing? Or how else could, for example, Lowri have a chance?

With all due respect, unless the people you know are in the showbiz world or have any releveance on her life in the least ..I doubt she'll have nothing to worry about..

I don't know who else is going to be on it, but good luck to her.

I couldn't believe it when Alison said she wanted to find a Chinese takeaway in her stocking not gifts on Christmas morning....and her mum actually granted her wish...

(P.S my money is on Lowri Turner - she very competitive and ambitious...and a fitness DVD will surely follow when she wins a la Anne Diamond)

Yes I must admit that the people I know are, in general, quiet and unassuming folks who would not like to force their personalities on others and have no desire to be on TV nor have anything to do with showbiz people .... and I thought Alison was just a normal BB wannabe contestant.

I am rooting for Lowri .... I like her.

I just caught up with this on last nights' repeat. It really has delusions of grandeur now hasn't it?

Apart from Aimee (sp?), I think Alison will be one of the failures of the series. I really dont think she's in this to lose weight- it's just more media exposure.

Self denial and Alison dont seem to go together somehow.

Interesting to watch the struggle though.

I can't stand the woman, so I'm watching. I want to see her being tortured. Everyone she meets should talk about food all the time and pig out on chocolate oranges in her presence.

I can't see her doing well at all. Its not just her horribly loud and over the top personality that caused her to be picked last . The other contestants realise that she'll be a liability on the team. If she loses more than a few pounds - rapidly regained - I'll eat my hat.

I don't think she has any commitment at all to losing weight, she just wants more telly exposure.

I imagine the columnist chappie (whose name escapes me at the moment, gah!) will win, since he has an athletic past, and pressing health concerns.

Now that they are promoting it properly, the winner is probably guaranteed a lucrative fitness video, so I don't think even Alison's raw ambition stands a chance against these hardened professionals with careers on the slide.

I am well over 30 and Alison is probably the one I know best through BB, my teenagers do not watch it and think I am sad that I do - don't assume which ages watch BB, this is one of the mistakes the producers made last year. Alison has also been a regular presenter on Good Morning for well over a year, which will make her well know amongst a wide age range. It's that Aimee comedienne woman I've never heard of.

James Whittiker, Royal Journalist for the Daily Mirror. I agree, I think he's in with a good chance. You saw him at the start of the programme, smiling and patting his stomach, saying " I've had a lot of pleasure getting to this size", only to discover when he went for the necessary medical checks prior to the programme, that he was close to diabetes, had an irregular heart beat and sky high cholestral level. He seemed pretty commited after that.

I'm not sure how Alison will fare, or how well she'll adapt to the new stringent eating plans. Many on the show had the usual sweet tooth and at least had some idea what they *should* really be doing to lose.. Alison however, almost went into a trance as she listed the food she adored. She didn't just love them, she appeared to live and breath take-aways, fried Chinese food, Indian takeaways etc. Even craving them in her Christmas stocking. (Surely the one day of the year you neededn't feel deprived )

I thought the first show was entertaining though, despite being OTT with the old hall, forboding music, long walkway to the scales and facing the scary "you interest me" panel - etc. oh yes and Dale on hand with plenty of hugs!

Alison did well tonight - she looked fantastic - she was glowing and was so proud of herself and her achievements this week. She really seems to have turned herself around in her approach to it all. Hope she can keep it up. I'm pleased she fancies Harvey, cos that'll spur her on too!

It is not really going the way I thought.
This team business is not shaping up well for Alison.
She is with three 55 year old men-each of whom seems so far to be very egocentric-and non team players.Difficult for a team player like Alison.
Still early days yet-perhaps she can find ways to enjoy herself later on.
Just hope she can cope when she has a bad lapse and puts weight on the odd week.
(Apparently the chinese restaurants in her neighbourhood are suffering severe financial pressure -being January does not help.)

Quite impressive! Alison lost over 3 stone in weight and a dollop of attitude in the process. Being on a show with Amy Lame, Vanessa Feltz, John Fordham and Freddie Starr won't have done her any harm at all - she came out of it looking a paragon of charm and good humour by comparison.

(I did have a flashback to the BB garden table tho' when she was so delighted by her weight loss that she jumped up and down on the scales )

Alison should have won Fit club-she lost the most weight so obviousely should have won.Instead they gave the winners sash to some fat bloke.
This is so frustrating-after losing out at BB3 because of that betting scam-she is cheated again.
She is the true winner of Fit Club.

If those silly people on this forum want to wage a campaign it should be to get this result overturned-justice must be done.
(she didn't seem to mind too much though herself)

"Mates a Change"-from James Whittaker's column in the Mirror on saturday.

"the person I sat next to in the studio was Alison Hammond the charismatic reporter for This Morning programme.
Last weekend Alison admitted she was convinced when we first met that she would not like me"I can't believe we had anything in common".Well we don't and it's unlikely we ever will. But we have become good friends and support each other."

Looks like James has sucked out all my venom with charm.Strange-that is not fighting fair at all .A quirk of fate I suppose.

Oh well looks like Alison has made another friend and ally.
