I think the BBC has made a mistake but it's the BBC's mistake and not Alesha's, so I'm going to give her a chance. However, it's definitely not too late for the BBC to rethink this. After all, Kelly Brook was fired from X-Factor after she'd already started doing the job.

1,427 complaints is not enough. There must be many more people unhappy about this decision who haven't complained.

I am hoping the decision will have been changed by the time the show starts. Alesha is apparently upset about the backlash but she can hardly bow out. The Beeb could do a quick reverse, ie put Alesha on the One Show and Arlene back in her judges' chair.
