I felt something had to be said about this catergory, after the wreck it was in last year.

It's open to more artists this year, and isn't based totally on sales.

I say GO JAMELIA!

I've had a quick peek at the Brits web site and I can only see 5 singles up for nomination. Of the 5, I would have to go for Rachel Stevens Sorry, not much choice I'm afraid and it does marginally edge out Dido's nomination.

Anyway, as long as Radiohead get best group and Muse get best rock act, I'll be happy .

I think if it was down to which artist, I'd chose Jamelia, as shes a great singer. For best tune I'd choose Rachel, as I think it just edges it, although I love both hers and Jamilas, they're both in my top 10 favourite tunes of the year. Good tunes, well produced. I'd suspect Jamelia will win it, as she seems to be in the assendant.

I like Mis-teeq's one too, but it isn't quite in the same class. Dido doesn't do much for me, and Gareth...well.....I wont say anymore, dont want to upset the Gareth fan club

I think the Darkness's "...thing called love" should be in there too with a nomination. I think future they should have system which should be a balance between record sales/air play and quality. I'm sure a relatively large % of people would agree the Darkness's effort was one of the tunes of the year.

If I remember rightly about last year, all the tunes sucked (can't remember what they were), apart from LibertyX's "hot just alittle", which is a great pop tune in my eyes (Britney should cover it in the US, probably have a big hit). The deserved winner.

Liberty X won last year, also nomainted was Gareht Gates (x2), Will Young and Atomic Kitten.

I don't think Mis-Teeq will win because they released the song right at the beginning of the year.

As long as Jamelia wins something I do not care!

I don't think Dido's song is like one of those all time classic songs of 2003.
