Here we go again then with another Survivor.

As usual there's the Prediction Game running alongside the main game. If you want to take part in the Prediction Game all you need to do is work out which FIVE of the Classic Companions listed below will Survive to make it into the final five.

Once you've done that send your Predictions to me via PM. Your Predictions are secret so don't post them on this thread!



In this first round then you need to pick which of the three companions listed below you like the least then post your votes on this thread or send them to me via PM. The two with the most votes will be evicted from the game. If you'd like any that aren't evicted to roll forward into the next round all you need to do is type "auto" with your votes & any that have Survived will automatically roll forward into Round Two.

25) Adric - annoying. I know companions are partially there to give exposition for the audience, but I just saw a clip of the most irritating exposition possible from him, telling the viewer exactly what they could already see for themselves on the screen.

31) Mel - It was tough choosing a third person for this round, but Mel got my vote. Her goodbye scene with Seven was kind of funny because it seemed like he was eager to get rid of her.

33) Grace - She should have been sued for malpractice rather than taken on as Eight's companion and kissed!

Surely just voting for a character about which you know nothing is maybe not the most effective way to do this?!?!

This is not intended as a personal comment about Unit4Plus2. I promise that faithfully and honestly, U4P2. I read this thread thinking "Everyone seems to be having a crack at Katarina, and I bet only a tiny fraction have ever seen her". When I got to the bottom of the thread, the last post (U4P2) underlined what everybody else was already doing.

The best way to do this would be to vote on characters you know, and not vote on characters you don't know. That's why I haven't participated in the last couple of these polls: because I haven't watched Torchwood and haven't rewatched new Who enough to be able to remember all the guest characters clearly.

If we're voting out people we've never seen, keeping in people we have seen, surely the easiest thing to do would be to give the prize to Sarah Jane here and now, with K9 in second place and the Brigadier in third place? That would save us all a few weeks' worth of typing.

Sorry for seeming like a moaning minnie, and please don't take it personally, Unit4Plus2. It really wasn't intended as a personal criticism.

You know, I've actually seen only 12 companions so far (the count will be at 13 after Sunday), so I voted for those I liked least between those 12.
But in a way, it doesn't seem exactly right, because I was thinking that, sure I don't like Tegan. But maybe out of all the others I don't know, there are companions I'd like even less.
Nevertheless, I wanted to be part of this Survivor's game because there are some characters I've really liked
And how many of us have seen all of the Classic Who companions in action ?
So, it's pretty difficult to say which of both choices was the lesser evil. Even if I recognize that what you say is right, I'm not sure I did the most sensible thing.

Well, as I said to RK when puttingin my predictions, I'll be playing this game on guesswork mainly (some of it will be vaguely educated!!) I've only seen a few companions, so I'll limit myself to what I know!

This may be a little unfair, but for a while I'm going to vote for the companions I don't know, as I don't know who they are, so I can't like them, therefore can't say whether I like them less then those who I don't like....if that makes sense

i think you've got a fair point
for perspective i've seen most of everything thats still arround at least onceand been watching it as broadcast since the golden age of pertwee and grant i'd happily watch the dalek master plan properly if i could there are about 8 or nine characters on the list tfhat annoy me to some extent or another including the likely winner taken purely on her original who apperances
so in the final analysis if i chose to push out long standing but often annoying to me characters before characters i'm more neutral about its only going to save them a few rounds my top 5 or 10 would be my top 5 or 10 in all circumstances(though they are not my predicted top 5)
having said all that now that i've made my decision about how i'm voting for my bottom three i'll stick to it for all rounds as thats been my principle whenever i've played one of these
