Stir Fry
Putting some veg into a stir fry, do i need to cook the carrots beforehand? Also what order do i put the veg/noodles/sauce in?

It depends on the type of stirfry and how crunchy you like your carrots.
If you are doing a stirfry that has a broth that can cook for 10 mins of so then your carrots should be ok cooking in that then at your quicker cook veg towards the end. If it is a very quick stirfry then you may want to cut the carrots finer to cook in time. You would add veg in order of cooking time e.g carrots would be longest, then peppers, then onion slices, wheras beansprouts and spring onion could be added at the last minute. Usually cook/add in order of Garlic, Ginger, Chilli veg sauce(s) noodles condiments There is some info at this site http://www.bbc.co.uk/chinesefoodmadeeasy/ you can find more of her on youtube and uktv food website. |
