The chap was clearly out of sorts last series. I have never seen him getting so worked up about the other judges opinions. I put it down to him being unable to cope with doing the American and UK versions, plus all that travel. So if anyone needed replacing, it should have been grumpy Len, but with a judge of similar experience.

Or perhaps the producers wanted him to act in that manner, in order to give the programme the X factor appeal?

Len would be my last choice for replacement, but I would make him (and Bruno) choose between SDC and DWTS.
My order for replacement would have been

Arlene
Bruno
Craig
Len
I would like Bruno replaced, but I'd like Craig and Len to stay and my preference for any replacement (including Arlene's) would be someone with a ballroom/Latin background. |

Yes Paace- Len's track record is undeniable but he is clearly losing the plot. I've always maintained it would be so simple for him to retain the public's affections as the technical but sympathetic judge, but he also wants to loudly censor the other judges! Can it all be so important??

My choice for replacement would have been Bruno. He doesn't really seem to say anything of substance.
Arlene and Craig are both very critical but Arlene gives advice that helps the contestants who take on board her comments, and, in the last series, I noticed that Craig usually tried to finish his comments with something positive. Len is the only Ballroom/Latin expert on the panel so I guess I'd keep him on the panel but I didn't like the way he kept losing it with the other judges last year; it came across as very unprofessional. Like the OP, I think he needs to decide between DWTS and SCD and commit to one or the other but not try to do both at the same time. |

I like Len but he needs to pick SCD and DWTS. Travelling makes him grumpy to put it mildly and for the good of the shows and his own health he needs to pick.
My list for replacement would have been

Arlene - can be bias
Bruno - goes over the top - suits DWTS better
Craig - Great entertainment and good critique
Len - due to his ballroom expertise
my preference for replacement would have been a ballroom dancer |

![]() then the BBC won't be sexism or ageist but I'm sure someone could think of something to complain about

I would have gotten rid of Bruno and Craig. Alesha replacing Bruno might have worked, but Arlene was good at pointing out specifics particularly in performance rather than technique, Len's good at that on the technical side.
Craig for me would be the first one out of the door. The man is pure poison and contributes nothing. I don't know why he stays with the show he looks like he hates every minute. |

Therefore Arlene's sacking is sexist and ageist.
As for your suggestion of Alesha replacing Bruno I think that would have worked too with Camilla or Karen or another pro dancer replacing Arlene |
