Oasis, the Charlatans (they're Mancs aren't they?) or Stone Roses.

I think you've gotta give it to Oasis over The Stone Roses.....quite simply, they've got more great songs! The Stone Roses didn't release enough records to match up really...

Although I would say that The Stone Roses debut album is better than any one of Oasis'.

Joy Division over New Order any day of the week! Ian Curtis is one of the greatest British male vocalists ever, if not the greatest. As for best manchester band, it's too hard to narrow it down from The Roses, Joy Division or The Smiths.

Definitely New Order! Much better than all the others. I also much prefer them to Joy Division. I prefer Bernard Sumner's voice and love the synth/dance direction they went in. Ian Curtis was an interesting lead singer but I don't really like any of Joy Division's music that I've heard.

New Order for me. They've stood the test of time and been around for nearly 30 years.
