Does anyone think this River Song Appreance on set could be a complete Red Herring!

If Moffats writting is anything to go by he is certainly very intelligent. Could he be adding people to the sets to lead us all into a false sense of understanding about what the HELL is going on?

WIll we be seeing various people around sets from now on, yet they have no part to play in the series? Maybe to keep the spoilers away?

Im not a massive fan of spoilers, but I cant help but read them. I wish people would stop tempting me!!!!

Yes the BBC is so overflowing with money that they flew Alex Kingston over from America, wasted an entire crew for a whole day yesterday (and another day today) shooting scenes that they're not going to use.

That's how television production works.

So let me get this straight, he is going to get a number of actors, to travel to Wales, get togged up in a costume, do a bit of "pretend" acting along with other cast members and a production crew (costing several thousand pounds) just so he can go "yah fooled-you!" to a bunch of Ming-Mongs?

Does seem quite plausible now does it!

I'd like to associate myself with the comments expressed here, and would like to add a

Spoiler
On top of the expense of Alex Kingston's wages ruling out any Machiavellian goings on by the team, there's also the fact that the appearance of River Song would be positively shouted from the roof-tops in the episode promos.

Her appearance is the kind of thing that'd give a potential boost to ratings. If it's not flagged up in the Radio Times and other magazines in the week that particular episode airs, I'll eat my hat.

I don't think The Moff is that devious or could be arsed to honest.

And I would like to throw in a few for the above comment.

The more I think about it maybe the OP is right, Matt Smith might not even be the real 11th doctor! New series could start and reveal the ultimate twist with Sanaa Lathan as the new doctor! American, female and black ohhh imagine the carnage on forums its no wonder the BBC are LYING to us

And she's being reunited with Paul W. S. Anderson, who'll be on directing duties for the entire series.

It might not be River Song that Alex Kingston is playing.

There may also be another question to ponder on. River Song seems to know at lot about the Doctor, even so far as his real name. But did she necessarily 'know' him? She may have thought that she knew the Doctor, when in fact she doesn't.

Think about what happened to Donna, but in reverse...

Nah she was blatently his lover / mistress / wife / whatever...
I don't know why everyone is so resistant to the idea, it was really apparent from the way they spoke, the way she looked at him and the fact that she knew his real name.
