Hmm, the Sun said (without proof) that Alex was playing the Doctor's wife - typical tabloid rumour. It might be River, it might not. And they also said the Ninth Doctor dressed like a Mancunian drug dealer! Yeah, right.

If I recall, in 'Forest Of The Dead', there was a line of dialogue where Lux shouted at the Doctor and River Song to stop behaving like a married couple.
The Doctor then looked at River Song as if the penny had just dropped, and River Song shuffled nervously.
That's the reason for the speculation. If you watch the scene, I'd say the insinuation from the expressions on their faces was very clear.

Why did Ten say say to her only one time he could though ...he really made it sound like he is not able to tell his name unless this one thing whatever it is is happening ..

Well I suggested earlier in the thread that Rose's Doctor -having the same name might tell her ..but you're thinking another timelord might know? -perhaps the Master?

I was just thinking ..what about John Smith -might he have written the name in his journal?
and Ten knows it must be the journal because timelords never speak their name ..yet were it that we would have went back to the journal in the first special i'd have thought ..as Ten went to see what had gone wrong.

But Doctor Mark 2 is (along with Rose) absolutely definitely, most certainly and completely sealed off in a parallel dimenion never, ever, ever to cross back into our reality (Earth-1 as it were) ever.*
And since River is also in Earth-1 she could never meet Mark 2. So it has to be Doctor Mark 1 who tells her.
* Unless RTD thinks it would be lovely to bring absolutely everyone back for the finale...again.

So why did Ten say There's only one time I could then ?
As I say I think if the journal was involved we would have seen it returned to in the first special as Ten would know something was very wrong ... I don't think it's the journal at all.

It is definitely more or less hinted that they are Man and wife....or is that Time Lord and Wife?
Anyway....it could be that they are not married....but I do feel that they have a very couple like relationship.....
