I loved her I thought she was so funny, though probably a nightmare to work with

How are you able to re-watch the first Series? Is it out on DVD? I started watching in 2007 when the fantastic Tre, Simon & biatch Katie had their moment of glory. Been hooked ever since.

I'm so sad - I sky+'d it last night and am now watching! In my defence I'm off with swine flu and there is naff all on during the day!

I quite like Saira. More so than the first time I watched it, she doesn't let others carry her and really goes for what she wants.

Paul is still such an idiot. That hasn't faded with time!

Bloody hell, who'd ever tune-in at that ghastly hour! Thank goodness for Sky+ huh! The only people who stood out for me this Season were Phillip, Kate, Yasmina & Debra. I simply loved the boardoom shenanigans when these 4 were in the firing line & just cos I feel they provided the most fun.

It sets the pattern for all that comes after too watching it again with megatons of hindsight. All the arguments just turn up again in every series.

Miriam the quieter smarter female went for no good reason at all other than that she didn't control her males by telling them explicitly that only one could talk to her on air in the TV selling task - failing to treat them like schoolkids or not dealing with their problem in the direction booth when she was in front of a TV camera was a fatal flaw according to SAS.

James the smart competent male went for no reason at all that made any sense.

Paul was always doomed but stayed on doing a trial run for Syeed, Tre and Debra because SAS thought he saw himself in him - until he went at the interview stage Paul gets the why work for me when you have worked for yourself question that actually turns upa s a winning argument for Yasmina and Michelle.

Saira was kept on as the abrasive, brash female who can sell but won't win.

And Tim the winner has risen from a poor background and is quiet and non controversial . Nick points out that he's not going anywhere and not the most able but SAS still picks him.............

Sir Alan (or Lord Sugar, as I suppose we must now call him) later admitted that he got that one wrong. He apparently phoned Miriam to apologise.

Miriam was totally robbed. Totally totally robbed. Part of me wondered if he fired her that week because it would have been harder to fire him in the interviews, which I think she would have romped. She was also similar in many ways to Tim, and I think SAS had decided quite early on that Tim was going to win.

I think it was rather he had a soft-spot for Paul and considered Miriam to be expendable...

Lord Sugar does what he wants in the interviews anyway. If he can put out James Max and let through Lee McQueen (possibly the most shambolic interviwee we've seen in this round) then he's probably doing it on criteria of his own.

Yes, he was very bad. I don't think there was any way back after his Big Issue remark.

Paul torrissi was a legend. You could tell from the moment he was selling those flowers like hot cakes in the first episode

UKTV are currently re-running the first series on Dave and Really. Any idea if they plan to re-run the other series?

Editing my DVD player I just watched episode 1 of the last series again. It was very interesting how they showed most of the candidates making the usual "business is better than sex" type statements - but not kate or Yasmina. There's a lot of Kate in episode 1 too. May be interesting to see who doesn't sound silly in episode 1 next time??

I actually never got into the Apprentice until Season 2...

Can't believe two candidates had to go for dental checkups / fillings as part of a task!

And Sir Alan is in super smug mode this series showing off all his mates i.e. Harrods

Quite funny seeing the em@iler within prominent view in many scenes too!!

I can't believe Sir Alan used the words 'quality' and 'Amstrad' in the same sentence during the charity auction episode

Watched this a couple of months back and thought the candidates were a lot better than this years.

Apart for Paul Torresi who I reckon AS only saved to keep people watching so that they could see him fired.

Because it's a cheap filler, it's cut to ribbons to fit a 50 minute slot including adverts.
