Would Gwen Cooper make a good companion?

Now she is all alone and there is no more Torchwood (for the time being?) does anyone think that she would make a good companion to the Doctor?

Hmm, i prefer her in the torchwood world. Gwen is now a family woman. Unlike Martha, Donna and Rose, she has a husband and now a baby to deal with.

Gwen probably does fit better in Torchwood, but it's an interesting point- how would the Doctor manage travelling with someone who either had a child with them, or needed to be back *accurately* on time to pick them up from school? Might make an interesting one-off to have a parent and young child in the TARDIS, not sure I'd want to see that every week though.

Would she make a good companion if she wasnt having a baby? would she stick with Rhys or would she do a Rose and give up on him like Rose did Mickey because she loved the Doctor more? she did say he looked nice when they met over the Subwave Network during 'The Stolen Earth'

I really do not think Gwen would go with the doctor. I reckon she has lost faith in the doctor after the events on Children of earth by the sounds of her speech.

I don't think you understood her speech, it was more about losing faith in humanity.

No cant see it to be honest, perhaps for a crossover but thats it, she would soon get bored of not drinking eating curry and shagging etc...

I think it might be difficult now she will have a child. But it might bring a new dynamic into the Doctor & his relationship with his companion knowing she's got a sprog in tow. Although I don't like the idea of her being older than the new Doctor, she may not want to love him, but rather Mother him.

Yeah, she thought the Doctor must've lost faith in humans. Unsurprising, since what happened with the 456 was mankind's fault.

She'd just have to flutter those nostrils and knock down crowds, bless her

Speaking of Gwen, I think there is going to be a question mark over the paternity of her baby, picture attached. Clearly the child has his mothers teeth - but who does he look like?

The doctor is nine hundred and something and the Matt Smith is only a few years younger than what Gwen is supposed to be I'd of thought. Did Tennant's doctor 'father' Rose?, she was supposed to be about 19!

I don't know if Gwen would make a good companion but she may as well of already been one because she is practically the same character as Rose but grown up and Welsh.
