I would appreciate it if anyone who has worked out how the FoxSat 'Favourites' system works would give me a blow by blow explanation.

Ideally I would like to switch on and have the guide set up to provide information on about 15 channels.

I know I can remove individual channels like Alba and the Welsh channels but I don't want to wipe out all the other stuff for ever.

All help appreciated and acknowledged.

Favourites only work on the channel list, and not in the EPG.

Personally, for me, they are a waste of time.

Rgds.

We are told that this madness is enforeced by Freesat - its a part of their spec not to be able to easily get to just your favourite channels. Complain to freesat - really do so, perhaps if they do get enough complaints someone there will see common sense.

Well that settles it , Les. My thanks to you and the others who have effectively confirmed that it wasn't just me that couldn't make head or tail of it.

Cheers Sandy

Waste of time, just delete the channels you dont need from the list, eg the shopping channels and regional variations.

Its fine if you live on your own but theres still going to be things you dont want on the epg if you have a family.

I take the opposite view I love the Welsh channel 120 - I am not Welsh and cannot understand a word of it - although it does have a lovely sound to it..

However - I have found it very useful as a start landing page - I always set it on that channel when possible so that when I turn the set on the sounds or images of a channel I might be distracted by don't appear!!

Or I switch to it when I need to do some clearing down of recordings etc.. mind you occasionally the sheep dogs can distract - lovely animals..

I think the media screen should really be full screen though and have a mute option or be muted when you go into it. It's also inconsistent with the guide channel - which is full screen.

It does - it is called the Mute Button.

Very funny , and it's true that some people might enjoy pressing the mute button just for the fun of it...

Ditto. This is one area where Sky+ wins hands down (I don't have Sky+ but I have used it.)

Don't delete all regional variations, keeping one or two is essential if you want to maximise what you can watch and record. For example, I'm on BBC1 south however when my box is recording 2 channels I frequently find I cannot watch BBC1 south but CAN watch BBC 1 London.

This is because these variants are on different transmission bands, see here http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/forums/s....php?t=1077966 to see what I mean. Suggest to keep at least one BBC1 on low band horizontal and one on low band vertical to maximise what you'll be able to watch and record.

I dont record enough to have that problem, Ive deleted all the +1 channels too. If the above happens, I can just watch the freeview built into the TV.
