Was just browsing through youtube and came across savage garden.

Their songs are totally brilliant, i forgot how great they were.

To the moon and back and two beds and a coffee mechine are my personal favourites..

Weren't they boyfriends and the reason the band split is because their relationship ended?

I've had "to the moon and back" stuck in my head the last ten minutes, I click onto DS and this is the top thread.

Spooky.

One of their best songs was "I want you"

"Anytime I need to see your face I just close my eyes
And I am taken to a place
Where your crystal minds and magenta feelings
Take up shelter in the base of my spine
Sweet like a chica cherry cola"

Oddly enough, I was just looking round the music forum and saw this - whilst listening to Savage Garden

I'm a big fan of three of their songs - To the Moon and Back, Affirmation and Truly Madly Deeply.

Yes I really like Savage Garden as well. My favourite 2 songs being To the Moon and Back and Truely Madly Deeply.

I also liked Darren's solo work as well. I loved him singing 'Strange Magic' which was part of the Ella Enchanted soundtrack I believe. This is a great song.

I love Darren's later solo stuff but was never a fan of Savage Garden - although I must admit that Darren always performs Savage Garden songs really well live.

I grew up listening to Savage garden. They were brilliant.

Truly madly deepy is one of my all time fav songs. Cascada did a brilliant cover of that many years after.

Aww two beds and a coffee machine is so sad good song though. I loved Savage Garden and still have a superstars and cannonballs tour vhs tape somewhere! They put on a really good show.

Weren't they boyfriends and the reason the band split is because their relationship ended?
I don't think so, they carried on a good while with Daniel living in Oz and Darren living in the states, recording their parts separately. Don't think they really got on for the last year though...

No, they were not a gay couple during their fame, cos Darren Hayes was actually married to a woman at the height of their fame, but at the time of the bands split, he also split from his wife when he discovered that he was gay, and about 3 or 4 years ago(I maybe wrong on that) he actually married his gay partner in the same registry office that Charles and Camilla and Elton John and David Furnish got married in!!!!

Darren Hayes' solo career was actually very successful!! He did a very good version of Peter Gabriels song, In Your Eyes, as well as a Prince song, which for the life of me I cant remember the title of right now!!!

He is still very much on the scene, and does a fair bit of writing for other artists. I know he has said he has been writing for Alexandra Burke's forthcoming album on his twitter.

Soundgarden would've turned them into even bigger bitches then they already were.

Ohhh, intelligent imput there. well done.

Basically, I loved Savage Garden. They combined really great songwriting with catchy tunes and were a great pop band. I haven't heard a lot of Darren's solo stuff but you've reminded me to check it out.
