As long as it doesn't mean more 'questions for Len', that nearly killed it me for last season.

Maybe if they have one 1 hour show on a Friday, which always seemed very rushed, with 1/2 hour shows Mon-Thurs

I'd cut the wednesday episode, as its usually the weakest, and then extend friday's to an hour.

Although mildly entertaining, the programme is a shadow what it once was since they gagged Claudia and made her keep to the script.
The first two series where she was a "loose cannon" and said pretty much what she liked, was highly entertaining.
After that, with a succession of non dance-related guests flogging their latest book, film, DVD, programme, or whatever, every week, it became more like a shopping channel or worse; "The One Show."

There's condemnation for you.

Slightly off topic but can I ask why you write everything in bold?

On the positive side, an hour's programme could be good, since I'll probably be getting in from work later than during the last series and it would be nice if it were still on.

On the downside, I suspect that if it was on for an hour it would be padded out with clips of Saturday's show or reruns of previous weeks' clips. A lot of Monday's programme is already a waste of time for people who have seen Saturday's programme.

I always like the backse element of monday's show i have to say, for me its the midweek shows when segments such as Ask Len appear that need to be trimmed.

I could certainly live without Ask Len!

More video of celebs in practice would be good.

I don't mind you asking.
I don't mind how you compose your messages either.

I'd prefer ITT to stick to 30 minutes Tue-Thu, but be much more selective about what is on those nights. Last year was particularly bad at having daft guests on, especially when they showed so little of the training VT.

Then have a longer Monday show so the pros could still review the choreography from the Saturday show, but have enough time to do it properly and a longer Friday show so we can see the most up to date training VT for all the couples and have a proper Friday panel, including the woman in charge of wardrobe who would have drawings and swatches from the costumes.

I would like to see an hour show on Fridays, it was really annoying last year when they would start to discuss the music, costumes and couples etc only for Claudia having to rush it or cut it short. They used to dedicate a lot more time to this segment in previous years

I completely agree with this. Watching ITT a few years ago it was so fun and spontaneous, the features were genuinely interesting and the guests were informed.

It has now become very formulaic, just interview after interview where the couples are asked the same questions- what did you think of last week and how are you feeling about next week? I'm sure it's very cheap to broadcast that way but it's boring as hell.

No. Sometimes, particularly near the end of a series, they seem to be scraping the barrel to fill the time. Claudia is not as entertaining as she used to be. I think this is because she and the program are getting stale. My suggestion is get someone new on ITT and let Claudia be the new dance judge. She couldn't possibly be worse than Alesha!

I thought I must have already posted but forgotten about it when I read this!! Buddy, you read my mind

If it could also be on a bit later my life would then be 'Strictly perfect', I rarely get home before 6.30 so I don't get to see the start.

Now I just need to get Ian to the glitterball... <dastardlyplotting>

I think half an hour is long enough if they cut all the crap out of the show - starting with the fatuous, self-indulgent tripe that is 'Ask Len'.

Also drop the number of appearances of so-called celeb 'fans' of the show hellbent on self-promotion, bring back Strictly Confidential and let Claudia say and do what she thinks again rather than sticking to the anodyne script...

I agree with whomever said 30 mins Tue to Thu and longer programmes on Monday and Friday. It'd be great to see EVERYONE's music and costumes reviewed on the Friday panel as well as hearing the pro's talking at length about the choreography from Saturday's show on the Monday.

Fortunately I always Sky+ it and FF through any idiotic guests and the even more idiotic Ask Len drivel - it has definitely gone down hill over the last couple of years, especially since they dropped Strictly Confidential and restricted Claudia's random dialogue.

agreed

however i think they should make it:

1 hour show on monday & friday
&
30 mins tue-thurs

so the interviews dont seem as rushed then!

Because the last series was so long, I felt they were really struggling to find anything new to say on ITT towards the end of the series. I know I'm probably alone in this but I actually think they should reduce the number of times per week it's on. My vote would be for a longer show (to allow for more in-depth interviews and features) fewer times a week.

The ideal length for It Takes Two seems to me to be about 40 minutes. An hour would be deadly (they barely filled it with the John Sergeant End Of The Pier Special, as amazing a source of unintentional comedy as that was)- they just need that little bit more time so they can run 3 features of decent length with a few VT inserts.

I do think the show runs out of steam gradually as there are less celebs to talk about, and they do need some better ideas for end-of-the-run stuff. And definitely one post-finale show. Not that I'm asking for much.
