Natalie Lowe - new pro dancer for SCD7
http://www.newsoftheworld.co.uk/show...-Dallerup.html Quote:
BBC bosses are delighted to have signed her. An insider said: "We've been after Natalie for ages. She is gorgeous, a great TV personality and an incredible dancer. Remember she was the BBC's original choice last year, and Hayley replaced her at the last minute.Click here to see more photos of Strictly dancer Natalie Lowe "When Camilla quit we had to get Natalie. She's electrifying." I think she'll be a great addition - and she's tall enough to dance with Ian in the pro dances. |

She looks lovely! I think the man in the last photo is from Home and Away. A former winner and runner up sounds just right for SDC to me!

He is a professional dancer from the New Zealand series, (Stefano Oliveri - not sure of the spelling of his surname) and he was asked to take part in the last Australian series as one of the professional line up
. He and Natalie have been professional partners for some years. He and Natalie have their own website, here it is http://www.dancexs.com.au/ Hope that helps ![]() While I remember, Stefano was in the UK audience of SCD a few times in the last series.

By the way, not sure if Stefano is in the Uk line up as well, but he has won the New Zealand version of SCD, (Dancing with the Stars) more than once.

![]() Ye, the man in the last picture is Tim Campbell, he played Dan Baker in Home and Away. I think Natalie danced with him in series 6 and they made it to the semi-final. |

Stats wise out of eight DWTS series in Oz she has had one win, two seconds and a third.
So she must be quite good you'd think. However don't forget that no debut professional has made the final since Darren won in season 2. |

At lest she has a dance background whch is already an improvement on Hayley, thankfully. I'll leave more judgement until I actually see her dance and a bit of her personality on the show, though. x

I think she's a ballroom dancer, wonder if she'll get paired with Ian.

Pro Rising Star results from Blackpool 1998. A professional competition. Not defending her in any way, considering that was almost 10 years before SCD..she was also around 17 or so when she entered, not too bad considering her age! Natalie however seems to have competed much more recently, and does look like she has a personality more than a cardboard box. |

Thanks, VL. Fair enough she chose to drop the dancing to do snowboarding (probably more money in that for results in comps than ballroom etc) she just..didn't go down well over here.

Sorry if this isn't the right thread but as you are talking about how good Natalie is compared to Hayley it made me wonder. To anyone who can judge, is there much of a difference in the standard of our pros - are some much better than others? To my untrained eye Matthew Cutler looks better than the other male pros. Brian looks good but I gather he doesn't do proper competitions - is that because he isn't good enough or just that he chooses not to.

Snowboarding doesn't appeal to me, but each to his/her own.
![]() Yes, there is a difference. Matthew Cutler (with Nicole) was one of the best - so your untrained eye is working well! Karen Hardy also has an exceptional record. Can't answer your question about Brian, but I'm sure others can. |

I'm sure there are people on this forum who dance in the odd competition who could have done just as good a job as Hayley. She is no professional dancer, to use that term to describe her in incorrect. Her main talent is snowboarding. [Good one, BBC, good one.] Her biggest achievement in dance is 19th in a Rising Star comp at Blackpool. Not impressive and, note, not in a professional comp.
I'm glad Natalie looks to be a step in the right direction. ![]() She also reached 2 semi finals of the NZ Dancing with the Stars; however I do think that Natalie will make a greater impact on SCD and look forward to seeing her. |

Thanks Vivacious Lady. I may post this as a query on the forum when the new series starts and we know who all the pros will be (and once all the Alesha fuss dies down
http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/forums/s...l+championship But I think there's a lot of subjective stuff in it and so you have to trawl through the thread to get anything factual

Interesting discussion about the pros dance background. Matthew Cutler has never really caught my eye but I saw his and Nicole's comp results and wow, they must have been fantastic together. I shall take note more closely this series.
I knew that Karen was one of the best but tbh, I've never been a fan of insane grinning and it put me off. As a couple, I think Darren and Lilia are by far the best. However, Vincent and Flavia's Argentine Tango really is out of this world.

Re comparing the pros, I think it really shows that Anton and Erin are ballroom specialists - their latin routines definitely lack sharpness and energy. Erin was well out-danced by Austin in the jive last year!
