I've said it before, but I feel Tim Kash, the presenter of "all new" TOTP, is just so annoyingly crap, he deserves his own thread.

His Blue Peter style, fake, "I have no personality of my own" presenting just drives me up the wall. The way he just can't keep his head for more than one second, insisting on showing us every angle of his annoying face, the way he's obviously been trained to do. The way he continually grins, showing us his annoying glow in the dark teeth. The way he just so utterly loves himself.

Annoying, annoying, annoying, ANNOYING!!!!!

Perhaps it's just a male thing, as the female members of the TOTP audience seem to stare at him in some strange, trance-like state. Or perhaps they are just paid.

Does anyone like this guy apart from Andy Peters?

p.s. Anyone see the p*ss take of him and Andy Peters on 4music? Well funny

got to agree. he really is hopeless and hopelessly cheesy, and just plain naff.

for me, his best hoplessly cheesy and naff moment last friday was when he turned towards the stage and *thanked* pink for her performance, when it was so blatantly obvious that there was no way she was going to hear him, he realised there was no way she was going to hear him, and he looked as sincere as something completely insincere and cheesy and naff anyway.

but you probably had to see it. but it was naff.

and yes, i know i'd probably be shit as a tv presenter, and its not as easy as it looks etc etc, but then i'm not presenting tv shows, and realise full well that i most certainly shouldn't be presenting tv shows...

To be honest, I think I would have preferred Kate Lawler. I'm sure most people would agree, she's not the best tv presenter in the world, but at least she comes over fairly naturally, unlike the presenting drone, Mr Kash, and she doesn't give me bad urges to throw things at my tv either . And who knows, she maybe would have been ok at the short stabs of presenting required for TOTP.

"Here's Pink! Hitler was great!" "Here's Girls Aloud! That Sheryl looks like she lives on a council estate!"

OMG! He's f*cking awful! No, I take that back. He's much much worse than that. He is an utter tosser.

I think that Tim Kash is ok, but granted, he does get somewhat irritating after a while. He's quite wooden, a puppet who is doing no more than reading the autocue. Also, I preferred it when TOTP rotated presenters-to have only one, regular presenter does get a little bit tame at times, I think. Whatever happened to the days of the "Golden Microphone"? (That was actually before my time! )
By the way, I think the crowd are told how to react-Danny Baker once said so on a short, 15-minute documentary looing back at the show that was broadcast on BBC 2 in 1997.

It was so amatuerish.

I'm not sure that the idea of a single replacement works. I have only seen him do a couple of interviews and both times were poor to say the least. Ideally I would like to see different presenters each week, not necessarily Radio1 DJ's but certainly people that TOTPs target audience want to see present the show. Maybe they should also have a permanent interviewer, obviously we're not talking Parkinson here, but someone who doesn't appear so awkward in the role.

This guy is the worst presenter in the world. Ever. 5 minutes after seeing him for the very first time on the show I hated him and wanted him off my screen. I knew then it would only be a matter of time before someone realized they'd screwed up in hiring this goon. Andy Peters probably hired him because he reminded him of him when he was young or some other lame ass excuse. He does seem to have a streak of Andy Peters running though him come to think of it, and he annoyed the hell out of me aswell.

Hmmm, I wonder why Andi Peters did hire Kash. Couldn't have been anything to do with his presenting abilities. Hmmmmmm *rubs chin, strains brain cells *

Well, if Kash is out *ahem*, then I should think Peters is close behind him. Pair of eejits.

I wonder if the real reason for the waning poularity is that nobody cares about TOTP anymore - most of the records in the charts are crap, the record buying public are buying more 'non-chart' products and TOTP is only the resource for the limited market that we know buy/like the singles presented - consider this in contrast to past years where TOTP was simply THE visual resource for the audio people were buying.

This is a negative vortex and will end with needing only a few thousand units to be sold for a track to get into the top ten (not a million miles away even now)... Hiring Kash who 'ticks all the boxes' in terms of market reach - added to revamping the format, can only go so far in helping it. You cant polish a turd and I wonder how long society will stand it before switching off even more rapidly than the 2 million downturn recently seen. Added to the fact of course that we are only a few years away from sinlges being obselete anyway...

Top of the Pops used to have one (or sometimes even 2!) slightly alternative, moderately underground bands each week. I used to watch it every so often becuase of this and it got a biit of respect from me, but since the "all new" top of the pops has been on they have seemed to ahve got rid of this, all in favour of comercial (IMO) crap
