Hi,

I am planning to have some work done on the house and come across a problem wth the external BT junction box. It is currently fitted on a wooden arch which is due to be replaced. I need this moved so it rests on the wall rather than the wooden arch. Incase I have used the incorrect terminology, there is a wire running from the telephone phone to a white box and another wire running from this into the property.

I rang BT customer services a few times and got through to the overseas call centre. I have been given differrent information and dont know which is correct, varying from its not possible to I would have to order a new line.

Could someone please help and advise how much I am looking at for BT to do the work. Would this be a fixed cost? I do not want to have to commit to another minimum tern nad want to keep my existing number.

I have noticed that there is a BT Support user who posts replies on this form , perhaps they can assist me?

Many thanks in advance.

As far as I'm aware, BT Retail will have to get Openreach out who (I presume) have fixed costs to do certain work. It could be cheaper getting a new line installed though, so I'd advise you to look into that.

Hi salman1,
Will you send your account details via a private message and I will look into this for you. Openreach will have to do the work but i will contact them on your behalf and get some information.

Many Thanks
