I believe she's already been mentioned in the Rumoured Celebs thread.

First time ever I saw your face - still the definitive version of one of my favourite tracks.

If she does it she should have that song to perform her Rumba to

I really don't know much about her. She looks beautiful. I've just played The First Time I Ever Saw Your Face on YT and it is good, but I still prefer the original by Roberta Flack. Is her name pronounced as you would expect (if you know what I mean)?

Thank you! I quite like that name!

Do you think she is famous enough for Strictly or am I just odd not knowing who she is? I do know Eternal but I didn't know the names of the women who were in it - I do now because I Googled them!

Think when people will see her she will be recognised... Isn't she married to Shane from Boyzone??

She was married to Shane from Boyzone but they split up years ago -as I remember she was pretty small -not much taller than Louise Redknapp.

According to imdb.com they were married from 1998-2000.

Grrrrrrr - The original is by Ewan McColl (Kirsty's Dad) and written for his wife Peggy Seegers years before Roberta Flack got hold of it, sorry, complete bug bear of mine that he never seems to get credited for it

It is my understanding that the song was written at Seeger's request for a play she was in, but the song was first released by Roberta Flack in 1972 and MacColl won the Grammy Award for Song of the Year for it.

The original of any song would be by the writer, but if they don't record and release it then it is hardly wrong to take about the original as being by the first person to record and release it?

I apologise if I have got this wrong.

It's okay no need to apologise , the song was released before Roberta Flack got hold of it, I've got it on an album of his from before that time - but I don't think it was ever a single for him.

Okay - I think we both love the song by the sounds of things!

Louise Redknapp is 5'4 - so would guess Easther is 5'5- so with the 3inch heels makes her ideal height for James/Anton who are both 5'11

I think she's smaller than that actually.

I was just reminiscing on another thread about the run-up to SCD5, when googling Stephanie Beacham put her at 5'7'', which she clearly isn't if she danced with Vincent!

I read somewhere that McColl hated all covers of the song, so he probably probably wouldn't have been too happy about Roberta Flack getting the credit!

I've got about five different versions of it on my ipod- sorry Ewan
Beautiful song though.
