Hi,

My Humax Freesat+ Box has started to show errors. Whenever I am recording one channel, All the other channels report a “No or Bad Signal”. If I am watching one channel, and another one starts to record automatically that the channel I’m watching will be find, but as soon as I change the channel I get the no signal message again. The only channel I can watch will be the one I’m recording or any channels on the same transponder. I have checked the signal in the diagnostics page and they are nearly at 100% on both tuners. I have also rebooted the box. This did not correct the fault. Anyone have any ideas on how to fix it, or is the box broken?

Second cable connection to sat dish isn't working. Could be damaged second input on Freesat box, could be damaged cabling, could be damaged F-connectors at either end, could be damaged output on LNB. Try disconnecting cable currently going into input 1, connect input 2 cable to input 1, does that still allow you to view satellite channels? If so, cabling is okay, and it is probably the box that is broken. If not, it is either cabling, connectors or LNB that is broken.

Willie Wontie's points about swapping cables is generally the right approach but you need to test each feed to each port not just removing feed one and replacing it with the other..

The diagnostics report doesn't reflect the true operation of the stb it just duplicates the one feed

I have tried both cables in both tuners each on their own and was able to get a signal and watch a channel. It looks like it may be the box.

you now need to do a factory reset for the box to recognise the two inputs again.. it maybe you have an intermittant fault on one of you cables

Would this wipe the HD?

^^^ no it just wipes the schedules which you will need to re-enter and you will need to re-apply any stb settings like screen res and don't forget to turn the volume up as this default to a lower setting

your welcome.. I'll just say again as you were posting while I was editing post number 5 that you may have an intermmitant fault on 1 of your coax feeds something to keep an eye on.

This all sounds close to problem I had and agree suggestions made by others above.

For me it was that one of the LNB was faultly (couldn't switch between H and V). As noted above the fact that the diagnotic doesn't work properly makes problems like this harder than necessary to identify. Hopefully we'll get a fix one day....?!
