Not sure why you're embarrassed to say in real life that you've eaten any of those.
I can only think of a couple of taboo things I wouldn't eat and I wouldn't admit to eating if I did, like human flesh! |

My nomination is duck heart salad. It is the only time I have ever felt guilty for eating meat, they are about the size of a walnut, you get 5 or 6 in a portion and they look just like wee hearts, so there is no chance to deny what it is you are doing. What made it worse was that it was on the outside terrace of a restaurant overlooking a river....
Some flowers are very edible - nasturtiums have a nice peppery flavour. |

This reminds me of the time my ex took me out for dinner to console me over the freak mass death of all my goldfish in an acid water situation.
He ordered white bait followed by fish and chips. Thankfully he's someone else's problem now! |

Chickens feet, yes I have had them too - not much eating on them!
![]() I think possibly one of the weirdest things I like isn't that leftfield as its such, it is just unpopular - but I really like offal and love the St John restaurant - brilliant place... but is amazing how many people don't like offal.

Why is Okra weird?
My nana's asian, and she uses it all the time - is it not something that other people use? |

I am willing to have a go at anything people eat in their countries, providing it is not illegal! So I have had a fair share of "eccentric" (ie not generally eaten in this country) food, including guinea pig, alligator, kangaroo, emu and wallaby, monkey, snake etc. The most exotic I suppose must have been lotus root, birds nest, sharks fin (this was before it was regarded as a no-no) and fried jelly fish.
I was offered dolphin and whale in Japan, but could not bring myself to eat it - nor indeed monkey brains! |
