a deal wont be far away now.
if Virgin are done then talks must be well under way with BT. the current subscription plan factored in giving customers Setanta so logically ESPN with their cut price deals with the EPL/SPL will be able to do something similar at the same price. i think it'll be the VOD part of the deal that's taking time to sort out. just my thoughts. |

From Broadbandtvnews.com Quote:
BT Vision ended June on 433,000 homes, just 10,000 more than at the end of the previous quarter. You've got ESPN in SD at least.
Publishing its financial results for the period ending June 30, 2009, the company said it had added 38,000 customers on the quarter, but the numbers had been adjusted to account for inactive customers. It is a new low for the IPTV platform, which added 25,000 in the quarter to March 31, 2009. On a positive note, BT Vision has agreed to carry ESPN, when the Disney-owned sports channel launches its new UK-skewed channel on August 3. |

from todays mirror newspaper Quote:
BT Vision customers will be able to see Premier League stars such as Carlos Tevez - thanks to a new deal expected today. so we might see something announced today.
Disney's ESPN arm paid £90m for the rights to 115 top-flight games after Setanta's collapse. Now it has clinched a deal to show the games on BT's internet TV service. |

Top-Up have already signed with ESPN, so I think BT will probably be on board imminently.

I think it's well worth a tenner a month! Might be a different story next season though when they will only have 23 Premier League games. |

Well considering that Setanta on its own was more than £10 is there a good chance that BT will include it in with the packs free as before?

reading between the lines on the TUTV website I'd say highly unlikely...but you never know. |

Off the BT Vision site, dated 1/08/09 Quote:
BT Vision are in the final stages of discussions with ESPN. We expect to be in a position early next week to announce the full details to our customers.
ESPN has bought the exclusive rights to the 46 Live Barclays Premier League matches in the 2009/10 season and 23 matches a season from 2010-2013 that were previously to have been shown by Setanta Sports. ESPN is launching a channel in early August which will be the destination for ESPN’s Premier League coverage next season. |
