FOXSAT HDR Firmware
Hi Everyone
I bought one of these today but it needs a firmware upgrade - however Humax have removed the download from their site. Does anyone have a copy of the FOXSAT-HDR_upgrade.hdf or know where I can get hold of it? Thanks Alex |

What version has it got on it? Rgds. Les. |

Hmmm, okay maybe I don't. It shows U7.52.
The reason I ask is that when I got it it was stuck on a channel - frozen - you couldn't do anything. I read lots of people talking about freezing in here, so as with most things I encounter a 'reload' is usually the order of the day. However, I just went back to it to look at the firmware and it had reset back to BBC1 and seems to be working okay now! Any reason Humax have removed the firmware, out of interest? |

GaseousClay,
The software update is fine, we removed it because there were some problems with the backend on our website at the time we completed the software. This version of the software isn't currently required because it was implemented to facilitate an additional mechanism in the software update process that we aren't currently using. This version is in production and I have no doubt we will make it available again very soon in order to prepare for the next* feature update of the product. Bob * Please note: no date is confirmed for the next update but it is getting closer. |

But surely you must have some idea, how close is closer? Also, please can we have some indication what bugs have been fixed/worked on. |

Malomaka,
I can't/won't talk about dates because of third party dependencies and testing schedules of both us and third parties. The CS manager is currently making a decision about the release notes for the new software, he has to manage the implications of that so I will leave it to him to decide what and when it is release. Quick question for Bob_Cat:
When the firmware update is (eventually) broadcast and the HDR detects the update is available what is the default action for the HDR to take if there is no one around to respond to prompts? I hope that it will prompt that there is an update but the default action will be to not upgrade itself and carry on as normal. May seem an odd question but if the update happened to be broadcast whilst I was away for a couple of weeks I wouldn't want to risk potentially something going wrong and the HDR not recording anything because I was not around to sort it out. |
