Members who are on online tariff, please your advice are required. I have just send a text to charge my tariff to Orginal, how do I know that it has been changed, it's nearly 48 hrs gone and have not heard from 02. I have also not received a text regarding my free texts and that's well over 24 hrs gone.”

I had a problem last weekend. Although I topped up (for the first time) on a Thursday night my free texts and WAP did not start until Monday morning even though I was told to wait for 24 hours! I also requested a change to the Original tariff but got the impression that the whole charging system was a mess If you call 4445, the top-up line, it won't always tell you the actual tariff you are on if a change has been requested but not actioned.

Eventually it was sorted and I now get free texts and WAP and calls are charged correctly. Perhaps the charging system needed to catch up or is it all done manually and the staff don't work weekends? O2 even refunded me the cost of all text messages sent and WAP time used during the period that I was being charged in error.

May be it's a not a good idea to request changes with O2 over the weekend?

I did get my free texts, but no confirmation from 02 that it has been activated. I just sent a text and was prepared to pay for it and found out it was free. I have also received a text from 02 confirming, they will be changing my online tariff to orginal within 24 hrs. Is there a a way to check whether it has been applied? Who did you contact to sort your queries? I do not want to ring 4445, customer serivce who I believe charge 0.50p a min somebody mentioned if you use your mobile, it's 0.20p. Is standing charge 0.30p on orignal because the high street tariff says it is 0.35p? Thanks for answering my post.

I think I said 4445 is my message when I meant 4444, sorry.

Anyway I eventually sent an email via the O2 web site. I think all they do at the beginning of each day is clear the email queue by responding with a "Sorry for the delay, I hope you have now sorted the problem" type of reply so I won't be emailing them again at the weekend. I think mycare@o2mail.co.uk is also for online accounts.

My email to them last Monday morning was answered within an hour or so all is now working as it should be. O2's support is slowly getting better, the email was very concise and I got £1.35 compensation for being messed about.

I've been on this tarriff for ages - everytime I top up it takes a few days for my free txt and WAP to kick in again. I think this is just O2

I think from 29th Feb they charge for it. The service was terrible anyway - slow and you could only get WAP pages with it.

Hey )

I disagree with the previous comment that if you fail to top up each month you lose your credit. I recently got one of these sims and althought it hasn't been a month I did call 02 who informed me that if you don't top up you lose the 300 messages until the following month but you do not lose your credit. So if you top up on the 10th you get 300 texts but if you fail to top up on the 10th of the following month you won't get your 300 texts for that month.

Peace out
”

According to the info I got from 02, if I do not top up £10 every month. I need to make or receive a call every 90 days otherwise they will cut me off. By that does anybody know whether receiving text counts as receiving a call. I have just registered with orange as well and I have got £1 airtime and again I have to make a call or receive one every 180 days. I only use the mobile for emergency and would like to know wheter receiving a text counts.

If I never got to the payment screen, does that mean my order never went through? I finally got through to it after my 4th attempt but don't want to be ordering too many!

Btw, if you have 2 addresses, does that mean you can get 2 SIMs without O2 knowing?

Damn! They keep rejecting my order! What's wrong? I have entered everything correctly!
”

Did you manage to place your order. I have been trying to order one this evening. I have already submitted all my credit card details and it came to my house number, I put 3 which is the number of my houose and it kept asking me to enter a valid house number. At that point, I lost my order on the screen. I do not know what my position is as I am sure the order did not go through but am a bit concerned as my credit card details were on the form. Any advice, please if any of you has encountered the same problem. Thanks.

Thanks for dragging a month-old thread up just to tell us that - we already knew if you'd read the thread

The £1 free airtime is only valid for the first 30 days, then you must top up therafter.

You need to make a call/txt at least once every 6 months, or you will be disconnected.

And no, receiving a text does not count - YOU must make the charge.

Because its a pay as you go talka lot tarriff, does that mean #10 will be automatically deducted from my credit card every month? Or is it a manual top up?

And if i dont do the top up within the month do i lose my credit?

And my 10 pound top up includes 300 free text messages, but is that IN ADDITTION TO my 10 pounds? i.e. can i still use all of the 10 pounds on calls??

And does the 300 free texts include international texts?

Thanks.

You top up manually - if you haven't topped up again 30 days later you will lose your free texts, but you'll get them back once you top up again. You won't lose any credit.
The £10 top-up includes 300 free texts, 300 free wap minutes and you keep the credit for calls. (i.e. the texts are in addition)

I'm not sure about the international texts, although I suspect they aren't included.
