I had a problem last weekend. Although I topped up (for the first time) on a Thursday night my free texts and WAP did not start until Monday morning even though I was told to wait for 24 hours! I also requested a change to the Original tariff but got the impression that the whole charging system was a mess If you call 4445, the top-up line, it won't always tell you the actual tariff you are on if a change has been requested but not actioned.
Eventually it was sorted and I now get free texts and WAP and calls are charged correctly. Perhaps the charging system needed to catch up or is it all done manually and the staff don't work weekends? O2 even refunded me the cost of all text messages sent and WAP time used during the period that I was being charged in error.
May be it's a not a good idea to request changes with O2 over the weekend?
