Used pins taken out of skin (9)
Visiting from the Cryptic TV thread and regretting it - TC, this is driving me mad!

Used - ex, old?

Pins - tacks, legs, fixes...etc

Or maybe used pins - ran, walked....nah...

Is 'shed' anywhere in there (out of skin)?

I thought 'ran' + anag (out) 'of skin' but can't make it work

Yes, I immediately thought of Hellraiser too, but it's 10 letters and doesn't really have anything else to do with the clue.

That was sort of thing I was thinking of too (amongst other things!). I've spent a while trying to shoehorn Excalibur to fit (going from used = ex) but no luck there either.

Where is that TC?!

A thousand apologies folks, I clean forgot about this clue

There is an anagram involved, but 'out' is not the indicator, instead 'out of' is an instruction to be taken as 'hug' or 'around'.

The other part to the clue is another word for 'skin', which goes in the middle-ish...

I'll leave it another day then lob in a giveaway hint

spot on the flying bug part is pilots used to blame "gremlins" in the system if anything went wrong well so it says on wikipedia but we know how accurate that is

Yaay! I love that film, particularly the bit when they gremlins are singing carols.

I use Wikipedia a lot but always with slight amount of suspicion! I think that's right about the pilots though.

Anway, new clue:

Underwear Hurley flipped over. (6)
