Supernova - Mr Hudson & Kanye West were held off by Beat Again - JLS.

Bittersweet Symphony - The Verve were held off by Puff Daddy I'll Be Missing You, I think. Preporsterous.

Agreed, particularly as it was a Comic Relief single too.

Not sure what it's stopped getting to no. 1 but that Iyaz song that was recently no. 1 is Godawful.

I've got to say Killing in the Name and The Climb...okay so a Miley Cyrus cover by an X Factor wnner doesn't scream great song but it was more Christmas no. 1 than that adbomination. I just found the whole campaign bitter, stupid and hypocritical. They could have at least picked a more likeable, fitting song!

Laurie Anderson-"O Superman" kept off the no 1 spot by "It's My Party" by Dave Stewart & Barbra Gaskin

Live your Life only getting to #2 in the UK was very shocking for me. It even managed to beat If I Were a Boy before it got to #1, but Live Your Life only ended up peaking at #2 because of the X Factor Finalist's Hero.

Iyaz stopped Owl City getting to no. 1, but Owl City is no. 1 now, so it's not that bad.

It also stopped Sidney Samson getting to no. 1 the previous week, but that wasn't so bad, as that would've been a worse no. 1 than Replay imo.

IMO Funky Town would have made a much more original and distinctive number 1 than Don McLean's bloody 'Crying'.
