It says on the BT Vision sport section:

"Watch Liverpool v Stoke City from 3am, 20 August. Included as part of the Vision Sport Pack or pay per view for 96p"

Does that mean you can watch other Premership matches if they aren't part of the 242 Premier League games included in the Sports package? or does it mean you can watch any of the 242 matches individually if you haven't got the sports package?

I presume its the later?

correct, however MOTD will probably show most of what you want to see anyway, unless throw-ins, offsides etc float ya boat.

I s'pose for 96p it doesn't really matter.

You really must be better informed.

What you get is the option of either edited 55 minute highlights or the full match on demand abeit after the event.

Where do MOTD show that much of a match, if your lucky then they will show about 10-15 minutes of the main match and that is usually only for one of the usual top 4 team i.e Man U, Chelsea etc

A lot of people like to see more than the edited highlights or are you saying that Sky shouldn't bother and just show 10-15minutes of the matchs they show as the rest isn't worth it.

If you must have a go at least get your facts right first

you can answer your question yourself by answering this one first, "do you have the sport pack?"

your comprehension really is terrible.

I am fully aware of what BT offer and for the life of me I can't think why anyone but the most die hard fan would want to see it..., but each to their own. Like I said at 96p it really doesn't matter.

MOTD shows the 'good' bits, like the goals, sendings off, bad decisions, good saves etc. with top class punditry. hence me saying that MOTD will show all of what you really want to see.

The BTV VOD stuff will show all the good bits AND all the bad parts (dull). Again thats why I said throw ins and offsides etc.

And to answer your question, yes I think Sky's 'Football First' thing is equally a waste of time. Programming for the sad and lonely at that time on a Saturday Night I'd venture.

If you are a real fan then it is possible to watch nearly every top flight game direct from the web.

Well now you've expanded upon it correctly then I can see what your saying and surprisingly I don't disagree with any of the points apart from that if your your a supportor of a lesser ranked club then your likley to get a better view of a match than that given on MOTD

As you say at 96p a play or perhaps £4.87 per month it doesn't matter.

Thanks for the clarification, I had submitted the thread before I realised what the offer was. Got confused as I'm not used to this stuff.

As a side note, is there any other packages which offer that many live English premership games? As far as I can read sky offer 88, ESPN offer 46. 242 games from BT Vision is virtually 75% of the total premership games

yes ironically bt vision do show the most amount of football games, all be it all the 3pm saturday kickoffs in full from 9pm, so you can watch a match befor football first starts, although if you are a top four club supporter, this really wont suit you as predominantly the top 4 clubs rarely kick off at 3pm on a saturday

It's good for when those epic matches happen. You're watching Sky Sports News in the pub on a Saturday afternoon and the goals go in like cricket scores - you'll be safe in the knowlegde that the match in its entirety will be available to watch that very evening or whenever you like over the next few days via VOD.

No other service offers this.

So, not all the 242 games are live?

How many games do you think are broadcast live?

I think you are getting confused with what BT Vision is. It doesn't stream any live football. The games are available to watch on demand 7 hours after kick off, therefore from 10pm on a Saturday after a 3pm kick off.

The Liverpool v Stoke game is kicks off at 8pm the previous evening, and so is available 7 hours later at 3am.

The only live football available on Freeview is via BBC, ITV, Five and ESPNUK.

keendartfan, thankyou so much.

I was about to sign up for 18 months for the total broadband option 1. Phewwww! There's no way I'm paying an extra £15+/month for that.

Out of interest - why would you be paying an extra £15 a month ?.

I'm already with BT broadband and calls. Vision would be an extra £15+ every month.

Well that changes things I was going with the 'Starter' pack offer they have for broadband, calls and vision for £30.33/month after month 3.

aside from the £5.00/month, what would I have to pay?

- £15 for vision+ box
- connection fee
- BT hub £44

.....and would I be able to get ESPN for the one off payment of £9.78?

you pay a one off fee for the box and a one off fee for the homehub.

connection fee? don't think there is one.

you wont get ESPN free fopr a one off fee of £9. only if you take out a value pack. which for £15 now seems worth it. as you'll get vision sport, ESPN. TV and TV replay and another pack of choice presumably picturebox (although you could choose music or kids).

I'm on gold. and get the lot. i just wish they made a film pack tho.

I mean if they can stuff most packs for £5 then I wouldn't mind paying say £5 for vision film and say £3 for Film 4 OD Films.

From that link you posted, remember to add on £11.25/month line rental for the phone.

And, for the £15 its a reconditioned Vision box - just something else to note.

That is on an 18 month contract as well.

You only pay £15 for the vision box if you take it with a value pack. The same goes for ESPN - you'll only get it free if have a value pack (with a one off card fee of course).

If you just want the Vision box then you pay £90 for a new one and then you can subscribe to any individual pack you like.

For standalone vbox see here :-

http://www.productsandservices.bt.co...?topicId=24694

For individual packs see here :-

http://www.btvision.bt.com/viewing-p...standardsports

Lastly, you get a homehub with all broadband options so if you havent got one then they should provide one free.

not really.
says quite clearly online it's £15 for the box if you take a value pack.

connection fee is usually waived if you haggle.
the only other outlay is £10 for the viewing card.

Thanks for clarifying things. Its not easy getting your head around all these options.

Why they can't just simply sell a box and offer each station/package seperately baffles me. It would be much more efficient for both the company and the customer. A simple arrangment would encourage people to sign up.
