That does sound like a signal problem, not a disk problem.
Over a week ago? We were getting thunderstorms & torrential rain around that time, and people were reporting intermittent signal break-up during that period. If you are like me and use the box to timeshift everything to the full, you will hardly be watching Live TV, so you are only seeing it through your recordings.
As you say, monitor it for a while, maybe make some test recordings across a variety of channels whilst the weather is OK. Maybe check your signal strength & quality on those channels in good & bad weather to see whether you get a marked difference, or not.
