"Foreign" restaurants in London?
Although I've lived in London most of my life I can never claim to know it all...especially with restaurants.
I know there's plenty of: Chinese French Italian Lebanese Japanese and so on, and so on. But what about really minority restaurants that don't get mentioned often and might be worth a visit for a meal with friends for the culinary experience? (not too expensive, mind....) |

There's a few Korean places in soho that have a menu that's pretty unfamilar to most westerners. Hackney/Dalston has a lot of Vietnamese places. Or you might try the Afghan Kitchen in Islington.

I wonder is there any nationality in the world which wouldn't have at least one restaurant in London.

There are a few Ethiopian restaurants in London, the first time I went to one it was a bit odd as you dont get cutlery you eat the food just as they do with their bread. The food was excellent .

There must be a fair few Welsh restaurants in London.
Does anyone know any good New Zealand restaurants? |

Ethiopian restaurants? Do they serve the national dish "Nothing" at them?
Ok, I admit, very old and distasteful joke. I'll get my coat. |

I'd like to visit a Filipino restaurant sometime. There's not many around generally, but I hear there's one or two in London.

If you fancy Caribbean, then Cottons in Camden is supposed to be ace. Amy Winehouse loves it apparently (although from the looks of her, I don't think she really eats)! It's not really a minority cuisine though...hmm well there are a few Belgian restaurants, if you count the Belgos chain! Moules, frites and beer - mmmm!

Is that Nobu restaurant in London really all that? I keep hearing how expensive and amazing it is, but has anyone here been there?

This is one thing that really irritates the shite out of me even though I live in a large regional town.
There is only: Pub food Chinese Indian Pizza Burger The occasional 'noodle dive'. The lack of variety is dreadful. This is why I wish I lived somewhere more like London. |
