Don't mind the skins being on, but they're a tad too dry for my liking.

I'd rather eat rusty chips; that Godawful Oliver! ad they came out with a year or two ago put me off for life.

I see Rooster also got some Rustic wedges on sale now, I tried them as they are on offer at work for a pound, I still prefer the McCains ones,

Correct, but I don't fry very often and only buy oil once in a blue moon

I find all oven chips a bit dry. So I toss them in a little olive oil before they go in the oven. I also season them with salt and pepper at the same time. I find it makes quite a difference.

In New York all the restaurants kept the skins on their chips and they tasted so much better.

Will need to find the rustic chips when we go shopping later.

I've tried these and thought they were gross, most oven chips are dry but these were just not right

McCains haven't made decent chips for a long time, don't know what they have done to them, but they are very poor now.

Yes and I was not that impressed, much better oven baked, deep fry them and they go greasy inside, no matter how hot the oil is.

your oil was not hot enough , best chips i have in ages , better than guessing about potatoes being right to fry

Yeah, one of the ones where the quality really has dropped, very poor now.

Tried them once and had to use a whole bottle of vinegar to get rid of the claggy feeling from the back of my throat!

Give me homemade chippies anyday, deep fried, but in the oven and well basted with olive oil!
