There were 3 varieties of Treets; toffee, peanut (very like peanut M&Ms but not multi-coloured IIRC) and chocolate. All three used the 'melt in your mouth, not in your hand' slogan. When the peanut and toffee varieties were discontinued and the chocolate ones were rebranded as Minstrels, they retained the slogan.

At least, that's how I remember it.

Possibly.

I can remember the advert for treets, it was someone holding a treet in their hand, I think they may have been wearing a white glove, and then showing it hadn't melted because of it's crispy coating so perhaps that's where the slogan 'It melts in your mouth not in your hand' came from.

I'm sure I remember there being 3 colours of bags - toffee ones in a light blue bag, peanut in a yellow bag and chocolate must have been in the brown bag... is that right?

I don't remember the chocolate ones being flat like Minstrels, but I must have preferred the toffee and peanut ones...
