Frequent problems with Humax Foxsat HDR

The most common problem I have is pressing record button to record a program that has already started. Without fail, the Humax ALWAYS records that and the following program.

A few nights ago I lost many channels, including BBC1, ITV1 and BBCHD. The message I got was low or no signal. I attached my cheap 'Bush' box from my bedroom and the channels were there. I then attached the Humax but still no channels. They returned later in the evening.

Sometimes I cannot scroll through channels or up and down through the times of a channel using the 'i' button!

And a couple of times the box was stuck on BBC1 so I had to switch it off and on again to get the channels back.

After having the reliability of a Pace Freeview box previously, I find the Humax incredibly frustrating!

Not sure if this is typical of this product and that others have the same problems or that I have a faulty box.

No, this doesn't sound right.

Do you have 2 feeds to the HDR, or only single cable?

The signal problem you describe would normally be attributable to the dish/alignment/LNB/obstruction type problem, but if your Bush receiver is OK, it does point to the HDR.

Try re-seating your cables/F-Connectors, and doing a Factory Reset, you will have to redo your scheduled recording timers & any user settings you have changed, but your recordings on the disk will be OK. What signal strength & quality do you then get on both boxes tuned into a variety of channels?

If this doesn't cure the problem, and your Bush is still OK on the same cables, then it does point to the box, and you should take it back for a replacement.

Rgds.

If you press the record button twice it will toggle the duration between the remaining time for the two combined programmes and the duration for just the current programme.
