After all they have cracked the UK and Europe and they have signed with Jay Z's Record Label.

With major promotion, a spot on a big TV show and a change in lead single, possibly.
With none of that, NO!

They should put Red Dress or Easy on their new album for the US release and release one of those as lead single

I think they could, but not with Get Sexy. I like the track and will definitely buy it and cross fingers that it gets to number one, but I think that stand a bigger chance of cracking the US with a single that showcases the three girls' stunning vocals.

They have Jay-Z's backing so if he promotes them or better still remixes 'get sexy' and raps on it then yeah they will in no time.

Why hasn't Robbie or Kylie been able to up until now?
Sugababes even tried with Hole In The Head and that only made #96.

That's what I'm asking. Why is it so hard?

I don't think Hole In The Head really counts as trying, the song was released without any promotion from them, so reaching #96 (and #1 in the Dance charts) is pretty impressive. I believe the Sugababes were given a choice to stay in Europe and become #1 girlband here, or go to America. They decided to stay Europe-based.

I think we need to wait until single No. 2 but they're doing a lot of dance lessons so they can be like new Destiny's Child.

lots of competition. there are loads of similar acts, who can do everything the same, if not better.

Because American music requires so much promotion, going around the entire country and Canada, including all the major local radio stations and TV shows, a lot of British acts simply can't be assed to make the effort.

Sugababes are in a good position because they are massively successful, so can get bookings on all the major radio/TV shows.

Even artists who get a hit single aren't guaranteed success, as you basically need to promote full on for a year.

Pussycat Dolls on the way out, are there any other girlbands having success in the US? So, the time is right but the single is wrong

Without Mutya, there are no Sugababes. They've been dead to me for 2 or 3 albums now.

It's hard to crack coz you don't have some gangster rapper in your song...Ruddy Americans and their charts. Once in a blue moon it seems something other than RnB or Hip Hop makes it to the top of the charts. Get Sexy might get some transatlantic lovin' though...

No. Do you like "change" and "Denial?"

Denial is okay. I just think post-Mutya, they could be any girl band. I mean, THEY'RE LEARNING TO DANCE!

Sugababes were like the only alternative girl band. And this was when I was a boy at primary school! Not that I'm a girl now...

Dancing will help them appeal to the US market.

Is that the rule? I suppose that's how Sabbath did it. They danced; nothing remotely immoral about that. Dancing for airplay. On the radio. A listening medium. For eyes. Only.

Apparently it will appeal to the people who but the records. Apparently singing isn't enough.
