I'm not technically a newbie but don't post that often. Thought I'd pop in and say hello anyway

Hi everyone - I guess it's traditional on this thread to explain that I'm posting for the first time but have been lurking for ages...so who am I to break with tradition?
Looking forward to lots of interesting debates. human nature |

Hello! Any plasterers/decorators in here????
Hi everyone! I really need a professional advice here: what is the best thing to do?? We removed old wallpaper from the wall and how ''not nice'' surprise this was a lot of black stains dry but it definately was a lot of dump and wall fungus problems in here. i know first i have to treated it with some mould/fungus killer and then clean the walls. Fill all the gaps and little cracks with Pollyfilla and then? I don't know- shall i clean the wall with some water and detergent and use primer? Can i just sand it smooth use primer and paint it without plastering it (walls are pretty smooth and there isn't any big cracks or holes>?
And if i have to do plastering what is THE MUST STEPS to prepare the wall like this for it? ( problem is i never did plastering before but have some decorating experience and unfortunately not enough money to pay someone to do it professionally) I would appreciate any advice very much
