Borrowing from the other thread.
what bands do you NOT like, but might be ashamed to admit it.

I'll start with three
Radiohead
Coldplay. (mostly).
Red hot chilli peppers.

Totally with you on Radiohead, bought three of their albums, can't stand them. Yet everybody else seems to rave about them, what am I missing?

Definately Stereophonics and REM, they both annoy me beyond any bands.

At last some likeminded people!

Coldplay
Stereophonics (Anything since Performance and Cocktails)
David Gray
Radiohead
Gary Jules (Well Mad World anyway)
Travis

Many of these will soon be appearing on "Music to slit your wrists to - A suicidals dream"

All the hype about the above bands just makes people buy the album when they don't like it, but cos everyone has got it, people feel ashamed to say they don't like them.

There are others I do not like, but im ignoring cheesy pop here and artists without any credibility

There's plenty of stuff I don't like, but I wouldn't say there is a single artist that I'm ashamed about not liking. I mean, one man's Meatloaf is another man's Poison.

I'll get me coat.

Don't ask me why

*pablo honey* and especially *the bends* were fantastic records. (*fake plastic trees*, is one of my favourite songs ever) *ok computer* was OK, but not the masterpiece it was touted as being. since then - well, whatever you're missing, i'm missing too. (although some of the last album was a bit better, where they put in a bit of percussion)

but of course, if you're a *true* radiohead fan, then you completely hat *the bends* now, simply it seems, because us plebs do still like it. which is soooo uncool...

bloody stereophonics they really have disappeared up their own arse haven't they? gratuitous stereophonics quote about them : *they're just the luckiest pub band in the world*.

REM on the other hand are GodLike, and seem to be really enjoying themselves again, especially Michael since he came out.

nobody will admit to liking Meatloaf, and yet *Bat Out of Hell* has sold 322 billion copies, and been in the top 100 albums for around 102 years - pretty amazing statistics in anyone's book.

I don't like Meatloaf's music, it was just an excuse for a crap joke. Seems like a nice bloke though, and a bit mental.

I'm not sure I'm ashamed of not liking anyone but one artist which don't get despite everyone saying he's a god is Bob Marley. Not a fan of Red Hot Chilli Peppers either

Or you can be a Radiohead fan who dislikes the Bends because its "played out". I'm sick of hearing that album!!

But you can also like they're new stuff... but realise they're just being the poor man's Aphex Twin!

My list
Stereophonics (Miserable self indulging w*** fest)
Red Hot Chili Peppers (Happy self indulging w*** fest)

Yes, Hendrix as well. Everyone says he's a guitar god but I never really enjoy listening to his music

I don't actually. I've never really been a fan of that overblown rock thing. The only Jim Steinman stuff I've enjoyed is the work he did with The Sisters of Mercy.
