I thought Five had first pick so why did they not pick Fulham vs Juventus.
Because Liverpool v Lille at 8pm will get many more viewers.

So they don't really pick the best match do they. All I hear is them always saying we get first pick blah blah blah...

Well they missed a classic so far and I bet the match at Anfield will be boring.

Can you tell me why they are playing at 6pm instead of the normal time of 8.05pm.

Probably because UEFA didn't want both matches played together, which would reduce the TV audience for each match.

Why were the CL matches spread out over 4 weeks? Same reason probably.

It's a shame for the fans as an early kick-off surely means some will miss out one of the best nights in the history of Fulham FC.

Great stuff.

Fulham vs Juventus and Werder Bremen vs Valencia games are nuts.

Dreamland for whoever has second pick in the Quarters now. ITV and ESPN would have surely not have counted their chances on one English team making it that far, never mind a possible second.

We should be so lucky if the match from Anfield is half as good as this.

Fulham have been incredible tonight. As I type, they've won it!

Fulham were brilliant, knocked out the favorites by destroying them 4-1 after going one down.

Liverpool looking nervous with 6 minutes gone, Lille looking confident.

Why didn't ITV show the Fulham game? I thought they had 2nd pick?

I rather it was on ESPN for HD coverage.

Its easy to moan at channel 5 but they did have to pick the match before the match! I would have picked the Liverpool match.

To be honest anyone in their right mind would have thought the Fulham match was over. The Liverpool match only being 1-0 to Lille meant it could be a lot closer.

My understanding is that ITV 4 & ESPN take it in turns over 2nd & 3rd choice games.

If Fulham & Liverpool are paired together then that would be great for FIVE but we have to see the draw.

I have enjoyed watching Fulham in europe & Liverpool are really CL rejects.

I think ITV and ESPN take turns with the 2nd pick.

Edit: Sparkie beat me to it.

By the way: According to UEFA regulations, all quarter & semi final matches will "in principle" kick off at 20:05 GMT. Although I don't know if they will stick to it, with England, Spain, and possibly Germany still having two teams in the competition. TV stations in these countries would obviously want to have a second kick-off time.

Call me mad, but I'd say there's a half-decent chance of a Liverpool v Fulham final.

You're mad

I'd say there was little chance of a Liverpool v Fulham final!

Hamburg desperately want to play the final in their home stadium - and Liverpool would probably be their dream opponent.

Hamburg's form is declining but I think there's still a good chance of an all-German semifinal.

If five show anything other than both Liverpool legs I'll take a bite out of my shoe.
