You still haven't told us which game you feel is more worthy of being televised than PAOK v Shamrock Rovers though, Judio.
Your criticism of ESPN would IMO seem more of a point rather than just a slating of the channel for the sake of it if you put up an alternative choice, however I happen to agree with Li4m in that I don't think there's a particular standout game in the 8.05pm timeslot from a British perspective once you factor out Spurs and Stoke.
You mention ESPN's previous non-UK picks. You're right, Athletic Bilbao v Paris Saint-Germain was a good pick last week, but I don't think it's a coincidence that they picked a game involving Athletic, who have a following among a sizeable section of Celtic's support, to directly follow their coverage of Celtic v Udinese. It would be akin to showing Lech Poznan after a Manchester City match or Hamburg after Rangers and thus makes sense when looking to retain viewers of the earlier game.
Last season, they picked certain games seemingly solely on the basis that they were relevant to a British team's group, as PAOK v Shamrock Rovers is to the Tottenham group, so you could see this pick as a repeat of that policy on top of the Irish factor coming into play.
Perhaps Dynamo Kiev v Besiktas, the night's other game in Stoke's group, would have been the best "other" pick but really no fixture other than Tottenham v Rubin Kazan strikes me as being really that attractive from the 8.05pm kick offs on Thursday 20th. Most of the teams from the top leagues involved on that side of the draw are playing teams from smaller, less attractive leagues, so with that in mind I don't think PAOK v Shamrock Rovers is a bad call.
