Is there any chance of England getting a fair play place, and if so, who would it be likely to be?

Liverpool are first in line, Southampton if Liverpool refuse it. They were third or fourth in the rankings whan I last looked, third would be enough.

He has, yes.

Surprised at Liverpool's lack of ambition

I wasn't aware they could turn it down. I remember a couple of years ago Fulham got the spot despite a couple of bookings and a sending off in their final league game. Rumours at the time were they picked these up deliberately to avoid a European campaign beginning in June.

The Fair Play spots have been awarded to Sweden, Norway, and Finland (as usual).

Those tables arent fair, cause weve played far more games than the majority of them, what are these standings based on, it says weve played 132 games, Finland 66, how who is that fair, a country on 66, is bound to have picked up less yellow cards red cards etc.

But maybe its not a bad thing, cause cant imagine Prem Clubs, wanting to start playing in a competition in June.

I imagine some sort of average is used.

Of course the ranking is based on average points per match.

This will change over the next few weeks. I have been looking into the permutations and they are almost endless.

But thank you for the link and I will be looking at his intently over the next few weeks.

How many points would Chelsea winning tonight boost the England base co-efficient and would this put us above Rosenberg/ FC Zurich.

More importantly, where will Swansea's early qualifiers be televised?

In answer to your question, if Chelsea win tonight it's almost certain that Swansea will be seeded for the play off if they reach it. Depends slightly on who else gets through the early qualifiers, of course.

I would have thought ITV4 would be interested.

Chelsea winning has put us above Austria Vienna who may still get to the Europa League Play off round, but no-one else unfortunately, this is the only season so far i have been remotely interested in Europe League seedlings.

S4C will certainly take it if nobody else does. They always show good coverage of Welsh teams in English leagues.

Alteratively Swansea may decide they don't want TV coverage of their home leg

Up to UEFA what rounds go on TV I would have thought. Then broadcaster chooses what game it wants from the round.

Before the group stage the rights still belong to the club so surely they can choose not to sell to anyone if they so wish.

I'm pretty sure Fulham v Dnipro in 2011 wasn't on TV

I'd never known that, may well be the case. I'm sure there will be a sell out for their first home European game and that it will be on tv for many other interested fans. They sell out tickets a few days before the game then S4C get last minute rights, sounds realistic to me.

Initially, yes. But there may be logical reasons that Liverpool could do without the distraction of the Europa League, while they're aiming for stability with Brendan Rogers starting his second season in charge.

Most games are played on a Thursday, meaning they're usually shift the next League fixture to a Sunday or Monday - pending broadcasting schedules. They tend to have a knock on effect for the clubs.

It will be a nightmare for Wigan juggling fixtures in four competitions. If they do well in the Europa League, I suspect that will have an effect on any ambitions for a quick return to the top flight.

You got confused with a previous post i made.

When Brendan Rogers was asked about the europa league through fair play which will now not happen, but he said he would go into it, as it had been good for the club, and the players injoyed it.

It was the Southampton, manager, who said he wouldnt be interested

Chelsea's win last night won't have any affect on Englands coefficient for next season. Those points only come into effect for the 2014/15 season.

That's correct for the access list (i.e. which country gets how many CL/EL places) but the seeding is always based on the most recent coefficients.

Swansea will now be definitely seeded in Both Qualifying Rounds before the Group Stage

Probably but not definitely. In Bert Kassies' list, it is assumed that all seeded teams advance in CL qualifying. If four (or more) seeded clubs from the 3rd CL qualifying round are relegated to the Europa League, Swansea could be unseeded in the play-off round. On the other hand, seeded EL teams could go out as well, and this would benefit Swansea.
