Sorry if you would prefer to try and hide the truth,
This is a Freesat+ forum.

People come here because they have decided that they don't want to pay for Sky and would prefer an alternative.

Very occasionally someone comes with a question about changing over from Sky to Freesat.

In neither of those cases is there the slightest chance that the poster, or, indeed, anyone else reading the thread, is not perfectly well aware that you can get more channels on Sky.

there are two sides to this - why do you feel you have to hide one of the sides and criticise if someone dares to mention it?.
The suggestion that anyone is trying to 'hide' the fact that Sky has more channels is fatuous. The criticism comes because your pathetic attempts to shill for Sky by telling people it has more channels is an insult to everyone's intelligence.

You also appear to consider anyone who doesn't think exactly as you do as 'lacking in intelligence' - as suggested above.
That, I'm afraid, is your poor reading/English comprehension letting you down again. What I said was: "Anyone with an ounce of intelligence can look at the schedules and know whether there is enough on Freesat to satisfy their needs."

i.e. it doesn't need someone to keep stating the obvious every chance they get.

Perhaps you should try a more reasoned and balanced approach instead of your bigoted one?.
Perhaps you should cut down a bit in your attempts to promote Sky in a forum where it is off topic and in a way that insults the intelligence of other members who are perfectly well aware that Sky has channels other than those on Freesat without you telling them at every opportunity.

Perhaps you should cut down your attempts to try and promote Freesat over Sky by being misleading - members here are FAR more perfectly aware that you pay a subscription few for a subscription service, and that you don't pay one for a non-subscription service. It works both ways, and more so this way than your's.

Nigel, this is a Freesat+ forum.

The whole point of it is to discuss Freesat+.

by being misleading
Where have I been misleading?

I've never denied that there is more programme material on Sky and I've never exaggerated the cost.

It seems to me that you are resorting to telling outright lies in your desperation to continue shilling for Sky.

- members here are FAR more perfectly aware that you pay a subscription few for a subscription service, and that you don't pay one for a non-subscription service.
1) far more aware that what?

2) how can you be 'more perfectly'? Perfectly is a superlative - you either are perfectly aware or you aren't.

It works both ways, and more so this way than your's.
I'm sure you know what that means. It looks like gibberish to me.

As e OP for this thread I feel I ought to say that there is no real need for argument!

I am fully aware of what you can get on Sky. The reason Freesat + interests me is because I have gradually cut down on Sky and not missed any of it. Others might not think the same.

I think all the kind replies have answered my question!

When I can get sky sports (full package and HD channels) on freesat I will probably look at getting a freesat+HD recorder (they may well have come down in price by then).

Until that happens (if ever) I will stick with sky - if I didn't watch sports channels 90% of the time I would stick with free to air channels full stop.

The way I hope to have it this year is that my Freesat+ HD will reliably record the soaps , strictly and x-factor for the missus and I can use the Sky HD box for sports and other HD content.

My Sky HD box now needs at least 2 plug out resets a week since the new EPG! Haven't needed to reset my Hummy for 6 months now!
