Humax HDR - Black screen when on Freeview

I have a Humax HDR, and a Panny Viera with inbuilt Freeview tuner.
'Her In Doors' complains, that when she is watching Freeview channels, and the Humax kicks in to start recording a Freesat programme, the screen goes blank for a few seconds and she loses a few seconds of the plot. Where is the fault? Is it my settings for the Humax, or the settings for the Panasonic Viera?
I realise that there is a simple solution - just watch Freesat at all times! But the Boss insists on watching the Freeview channels. I am getting a 'bit of stick'. Help or suggestions please

I dont think theres anything you can do apart from leave the humax on when the missed is watching the TV. Its a known issue with panasonics.

Have you tried switching the Humax HDMI onto a different port on the TV? May not work, but worth a try if the TV has a non-auto switching HDMI port.

This was extensively covered on another thread (can't find it at present).

Move your Humax to HDMI/2 (autoswitching is only active on HDMI/1 on most Pannys).

The problem is with the Humax which incorrectly activates the HDMI output when starting a recording from "Standby".

Thanx snaithg. Switched to HDMI2 - recorded 2 x programmes on the Humax, watched Freeview, and no repeat of the fault mentioned on my previous.
Am now out of the dog-house!!
