Yes there were only 8. But that should have nothing to do with how long you get to vote. Obviously the show needs to be longer for all the dances, but as far as the voting goes it shouldn't make a difference.

Who knows why they've decided to change it back. Maybe they've decided with X Factor results and Top Gear on Sunday evenings, it makes no sense to put SCD on then. Maybe they've got other shows planned for Sunday evenings this winter and it's just more awkward to fit it in.

The Saturday night schedule will be interesting - presumably they've got to fit in Merlin, SCD, Lottery, Casualty, News - that's a lot to get in between 6 and 10!”

Not rubbish at all - it wasn't popular, and unless I am very much mistaken, voting figures were way down (I know I didn't vote much last year as there was no impetus to). If it were such a ratings winner and a popular move that worked, they would not be backtracking now they would be confident of their place against the competition.

I agree it's going to be a challenge fitting it all in but maybe they will transfer Merlin to a different night?

Eh, not happy. The Saturday show often feels too long as it is without the fillerific results show bolted on the end.

I'm happy it's moving back, but why not the performance show and a results show later on? this means one big show!?

I know, it was the length of the show I was referring to not the length of time for voting.

One 90 minute show will be nowhere near enough time to fit in all the couples that we have now, and keep the quality of everything else that goes with the show. Everything will be rushed now, including the amount of voting time.

Yeah, make no mistake if the whole show is actually going to be 90 minutes long, it's going to be an unwatchable mess for at least the first few weeks, and going to settle down to "mildly painful" after that. I'm just imagining them having to deal with the Tom Chambers semi-final voting car-crash live on air without a break and a heavy dose of post-hoc editing.

It's making me laugh.

If its all in one show maybe this means their getting rid of the dance off cause that used to take up the last 15 minutes of the results show.

I wouldn't be suprised if the 90 minute show might actually be the results show. Maybe they are following DWTS format, which has a longer results show. Although I know that includes numerous advert breaks! Anyone know how long their show would be without the ad breaks?

If it is true and the entire show is 90 minutes long then I can only imagine the dances will be shorter and not all the judges will comment. Something which might benefit Alesha!

According to this, the dance off is staying!

The voting numbers mean very little to the BBC. They get absolutely no money from the voting. Besides, if the voting went down last series due to the fact it was no longer for Children In Need and therefore people couldn't justify their multi-votes to themselves by saying it was for charity.

The figures show quite clearly it was a ratings winner. The last time there was a Saturday results show, it typically got around 7.5m. Last year's Sunday results shows averaged 8.9m (excluding the semi and finals in all cases as they got similarly large ratings).

The Sunday results show was a definite ratings winner and it's certainly nothing to do with failure or unpopularity that has led them to this change. As I said, I suspect it's a pre-emptive strike to try and improve the Saturday ratings.

Absolutely fantastic!

I agree they should split it into two shows with the results show being on at around 9 o'clock.

I thnk this could be the reason for the 2 new Friday shows. The introductions etc for the males will be done on one Fri, and the females the next, so that they arent havng to cram all that in too.

Weeks three and four will only have 7 couples each, but from week 5 they will be up to 12 so I think this is when it will start getting a bit tight time wise.

IMO that would be far too late for the results of this family show - probably why they are talking about doing an all in one show.

I never watched it (well not avidly) but has the format of BGT been one approx 90 minute show with all the performances (and judges comments and prelim vts) and voting all happening in a much shorter time frame??

I would imagine that the Beeb are going to do something along those lines... but do agree that when there are 10-12 couples being judged in one go, it will take 90 minutes just for that.... ...

Last year if I remember rightly weeks 5, 6 and 7 on Strictly the actual show was over 90 minutes (without any advert breaks) .... I think we will have to face the fact that voting will be only for approx 10 minutes.. . (just time for a pro dance, a chat with some of the audience, maybe a guest appearance or group dance) and then while the votes are being counted (and verified?) another quick pro dance or guest star... then results and dance off.

If we get less of the VTs from the results shows about how all the celebs "want to stay in" or "are having such fun they want to continue living the dream" [chuck me a bucket someone! [vomit smiley]], it will be fine with me...

Of course one show will mean no recaps and vts of the guest celebs trying to think up something positive to say about all the dances... I think it will probably mean that the live audience WILL NOT be able to vote at all... (cant have pro dances going on with people in the audience background busy voting on mobiles and not paying a bit of notice eh?! )

I think by 90 minutes they mean towards the end of the run, as it'll be closer to 2 hours at first.

Well this obviously to do with the X.Factor they are so concerned with them this year keep saying they want to out do it etc with the viewers.

For me I have watched SCD from series 1 and used to like having the results on the Sat.night also got fed up on the Sunday show of going over everything that was on the Sat. show etc and dragging it out.

I am happy for it to return to its original format but then I am not so bothered about Pro dancers as my favourite part is the celebs and the pro partners and seeing how they do.

This is the sort of aggressive scheduling they should have tried last series. 2 hours episodes sound great to me but please get rid of the bloody dance-off!

I wonder if this means not all the judges will get to comment.

I just wanted to add my vote for 2 shows on Saturday

90mins would never be long enough and we definitely wouldn't get to see as much of the pro dances.

But one show for the celeb dances, followed by an hour break for voting, then results show, with/without dance-off (don't mind it myself) plus pro dance and guest performers etc, would make for a Bumper Strictly Saturday Night every week!

Yessss! *punches the air*

I'm so glad the Sunday night show has been ditched. For me, Strictly was never the same after the results were moved onto Sunday. Good move, BBC!

Now if they ditch the boring male/female weeks at the start, it'll be the icing on the cake...does anybody actually enjoy it? Not met anybody who does yet.

The dance-off I can live with, but they should leave it purely to the public after about eight weeks.

There will be hardly any time left for the pro dances, and we'll miss out on all the excitement of waiting for the results to come on the spoiler thread.

I think poeple shuld be careful what they wigh for on these forums....it appears they do take some notice of whats getting said after all. First Arlene gone and now this... ”

I'm with you there! I'm not going to be able to cope not knowing who's been voted off! Haha! I've become too used to spoilers And yeah, this is going to mean less time for the pro's to get showcased I can't see them managing to fit in a pro group dance as well as a performance to the musical guest. *sigh*

Two shows on a Saturday, BBC. That is what you need. Can't you give the fans a happy medium?!
