Two shows on a Saturday, BBC. That is what you need. Can't you give the fans a happy medium?!”

Hi. Long time no speak!

I know what you mean about spoilers it gives you time to prepare when your favourite has been voted off.

But I usually work Sunday's so now I'll see it live!

I diden't expect that!
I am quite happy, I am hoping that the idea will be, couples dance, hour break, then a LIVE results show, who knows but I am still very very excited

I quite liked the Sunday results show, so sorry to see it axed, though can understand the reasoning - far more likely to be financial, than (as beeb claim) viewers preferences I'm sure!

Apparently the show will be run as one continuous show - as opposed to having a separate results show later. It works for Dancing on Ice, so sure it will work for scd.

As for using the time during which viewers can vote, I would prefer to just see them ditch all those singing 'guests' and have the strictly pros dance, plus bring in some outside pro dancers each week to demonstrate.

Dancing on Ice is not one long show. There's a break in between, usually a 30 minute show or the news or something.

I agree it's going to be a challenge fitting it all in but maybe they will transfer Merlin to a different night?”

I agree with claire2281 that taking CIN out of the voting will have made a huge difference to the numbers of votes cast - especially as that meant no more voting during the week.

IIRC SCD did win in the Saturday ratings against the X-Factor at least some of the time last year, but I don't how the Sunday night results show faired.

I'd say this is going to be the big Saturday night show for the BBC this autumn, with the other shows being fitted in around SCD for a change instead of shuffling the start time of SCD about for the other shows.

I also think we'll probably only get something like 15 minutes to vote because there is no real reason (like CIN) to have a longer voting time.

The fact that the X-Factor result is now going to be on Sunday played a big part in the decision and agree that many viewers who watch both shows will start recording X-Factor and watch SCD live.

At the end of the day though we don't know the reason for this change.

I bet this is because X factor are doing a Sunday results show now!

I quite like it being on one night but would rather have two shows and have say the National Lottery in between

I really hope they dont cut the pro dances.

I thought it was one long show with just ads to break it up, but that proves how much notice I took then.

In that case, perhaps one long show for scd isn't such a good idea.

I'd lay a bet that it's financial!!!!

So there won't be a dancing show and a break and later in the evening a results show? It's ALL ONE BIG SHOW?

Will it be pre recorded?

Er, the recorded Sunday show took place in the same studio, same production crew, same everything, so there are no cost savings as you seem to suggest. In fact, recording the results section and showing it on the Sunday would have been cheaper than having the Sunday show live I would have thought (not that it matters now anyway, under the bridge and all that ....)

It's alright adding it Saturday night, but god an whole night of strictly. Some people would like to watch other things too. Aunty are only trying to fill a gap which has a big hole in because they have no other ideas.

Perhaps because the result was being leaked on the web well before the Sunday show

It's not a whole night of Strictly. They said it'll be a 90 minute show.

They also have Walk on the Wild Side, Hole in the Wall, Merlin, National Lottery, Casualty, Armstrong and Miller, the news and Match of the Day on Saturdays nights before Christmas.

I don't think the BBC would be too bothered about that. Even though I knew the results I still watched it, due to the pro dances and such.

Not only is it NOT a whole night (as pointed out by Cent), and not only are there other programmes on (as also pointed out by Cent), but if people don't want to watch SCD, then they are quite free to watch another channel, or even a dvd (just like many of us have to do when there is something on that we don't like).

The music guests have always been pre-recorded even when it was on Saturday nights, so I presume some of the pro dances will be pre recorded now too. There just won't be enough time to keep swapping over costumes for the pros, especially if they have to then change back for the dance off all in the space of just 90 minutes.

I dont mind either way at least their will be no spoilers I hope we still get a decent amout of professional dances

The first bit of good news there's been about this series.

Yeehah!!!!!!!!!!

Thank God, I get my Sunday nights back. Even a mega fan like me can be totally turned off and bored by 7 nights a week of SCD. Maybe this means there will be less backstage footage of the four rabbitting on as well pointlessly recapping what we've seen. Suits me fine. All I need to hear is that the dance off is gone and I could even just about tolerate everything else.

As long as having one show doesn't reduce the number of pro dances I'm happy It also means I only have to record one show on one night now I can merrily clear off out, come back when it's finished, skip the bits that get on my wick and see who's been dumped all in one go...happy days!

common sense prevails - i think its going to be a mammoth show tho - i'll probably dip in and out - anything over and hour and i start fidgeting.

Like just about every other programme named by Cent!
