I am using a Humax HD PVR to feed an old CRT at 576i resolution and have been surprised at the hgh quality of the video delivered. It seems even to deliver an HD broadcast with more detail than the same SD broadcast. I bought the PVR to give me more flexibilty in recording, for instance tonight the schedule at 9:00 pm is crowded, and having the BBC HD channel gives me more choice of timing.
I plan to buy a 1080p TV when the new LED Models are established to give be the best contrast.
To be more precise, I have loaded a test card image (off the web) as a photo. The displayed bandwidth looks to be about 5Mhz. So this looks to much better than the quality of SD processed by a typical TV.
Well done HUMAX !
