Do you think Kevin did the right thing or would you have taken someone off the block?

Kevin did the right thing.

Lydia is safe so why take her off? He would have pissed off Chima, Natalie and possibly whoever was chosen as Lydia's replacement on the block.

Strategically, Kevin would also be better off if Lydia went. She is a useless ally. She has been up three times and hasnt won a single competition yet. She is also over-emotional, weak, and looks like prime fodder for a showmance.

If she went, Kevin could strike a more effective and less obvious alliance with another HM.

I agree - I would like to see Lydia gone this week but I'm not sure that'll happen with the Coup d'etat.

She may be a useless ally, but she WAS his ally, so he should have watched her back.

Poor show Kevin, grow some balls.

Because sometimes you don't know how the hell this goes, I would take my ally down, just in case.

Lydia isn't his ally, she has sold him out about three or four times already.

He was watching her back by thinking long term. She is safe this week and by not making enemies, they will be able to work together for longer in the show.

By winning the veto he won't be able to be put up if someone uses the Coup d'état. Kevin knows that Lydia doesn't have the Coup d'état. So if someone on Jesse's side of the house has it, they won't be using it as they want Russell out, so Lydia is safe. If Russell has it, he will be wanting revenge so will put someone on Jesse's side of the house up. So again, Lydia is safe. And if someone else has it (Jeff, Jordan, Michelle) then he knows that they are most likely going to keep things the way they are to play safe, or if they do make a move, they will want to get rid of one of the main players whilst they can as they know making that move will make them a big target, so again, he and Lydia are safe.

If he has used it, yes she would be safe for this week, but he then has Jesse's gang on his back. Which means that he and Lydia will be bigger targets from now on.

Yes it is a slight risk, but IMHO far less risky than using it and IMHO he made a much better strategic long term move for the both of them. Trouble is Lydia is too Me Me Me to realise it.

I'd have liked him to use it on her, but I think he made the right decision. Coup d'etat or not, Lydia is safe this week. I keep going back and forth on her, but at the moment I like her, even though she's a useless player. Of course, she'll end up doing something to outrage me tommorow, and i'll go back to hating her, but im in the like camp at the moment

Great post.. You have summed up why its the right move perfectly, though I wonder if Kevin even realises how good a move it was to keep her on the block?

I think Kevin has a great chance of winning at the moment.

It came across as a bit cowardly, and may backfire on him as it makes it appear like he has no backbone.

However, I appreciate and agree with those who have said that it is a smart move in other ways. It was probably the right thing to do. But it shows him to have little loyalty which makes him a crap ally.
