Humming Hifi
I've recently bought an Amp and so far I've been using it with an airport express without issue..
however today I tried connecting it to my DVD player and Freeview box and just got a large hum (and the amp relay clicking in and out) Now I have tested and the hum occurs when plugged into another device. Could the source of the hum be the Wifi or the Transformers for the Freeview/Xbox/Net Hub which live on the same shelf? |

I don't quite understand what you mean. What are you using and how are you connecting your Amp to wifi?

At a guess it is an earth loop usually caused by plugging the amp and source device into two separate rings. Have your tried plugging both into the same wall socket using an adaptor?

I've tried running them all off the same extention strip with no success.
I have tried my internet radio (Freecom Musicpal) and that worked fine once I'd enabled the line out function... so its not the cables... Could it be something its not liking with the DVD player and Freeview box that I tried connecting to? Edit: I've just tried unplugging the dvd but with the amp still connected and still buzzing |
