Upscaling
Quick question..
Do most Blu-Ray players upscale regular DVD's that are played in them?

Yes they do.
Whether this will be better than the upscaler in your TV depends, most upscalers in Blu-ray machines are pretty good though. |

I originally had a Sony DAV-DZ260 cinema system which upscaled DVD's and it done a pretty good. After replacing that with a AV Amp I added a Sony BDP-S350 and that's much better at upscaleing.

I've heard about people deciding whether to let the blu ray, or the TV it's self do the upscaling..... ....is there some kind of options on the TV or the blu ray player that let you pick.......cause I cant find any on my LG gear... |

The HDMI output resolution is set on the source equipment and can usually be found in the settings menu. The TV just handles what it is presented with so will only upscale if it needs to, though some older HD Ready TVs may not except full 1080p.

The best thing to do when you have a Blu-ray player is try each resolution (as selected at the BD player) and see which one gives the best picture. |
