One just released today that caught my attention, its free and is called Streamer. you can stream live radio and TV streams to the iPod Touch.

I would also recommend TwitterFon if you're a Twitter user and the official Facebook app if you're on there.

IM+Lite is great for MSN. Pkt Control allows you to control the iPod whilst its in your pocket by swiping left and right to change tracks and up/down to adjust volume.. very handy.

If you have a Last.FM account you can scrobble the songs you listen to using iScrobbler & with the official Last.fm app you can listen to your stations. I recommend DownMan which can be used to save files whilst your browsing online, I find it very useful if im at a really fast wifi hotspot and want to download a file on rapidshare, it also supports YouTube so you can download videos to watch when your not in a wifi area.

BatteryLife is also great as it gives you a detailed % on how much battery you have left.

For games, I recommend Tap Tap Revenge, Paper Toss and The Sims 3

Stanza's good if you like to read books on the go and they give you three free books (Alice in Wonderland is one) as a preview.

Tap Tap Revenge is a must and just recently downloaded 20Q which is fun when your bored.

Games-wise, Flight Control, Peggle, Bejeweled, Music IQ, Toki Tori, WordFu are all good and fairly cheap. I don't personally use many apps, just extensions of online services I use e.g. Facebook, New York Times. You can get many things though, e.g. a level...

Thanks for that, I've installed it and like the fact it can receive (well, for about a minute or so before becoming corrupted or dropping out) RealMedia audio streams, unlike FStream which is a superb free radio stream app for all other streams (WM, AAC, MP3, etc). At the moment Streamer looks and feels very much like an app still in beta form (stations added in the bookmark section are shown aonly as the URL, you can't give them a name).

I'll continue using FStream mainly though as it is much more polished, stream URLs and names can be added to it from your computer, and the only important UK radio stations which broadcast only in RealMedia are BBC local radio stations (all the independent stations as well as BBC national stations are available in other stream formats FStream works with). The reason hardly anyone has heard of FStream and use the likes of WunderRadio (a ripoff at £3.99 as the only thing it does that FStream doesn't is working with RealMedia streams) is because FStream never comes back in searches because its description is in French (the app itself is English and French language).

Tap Tap Revenge 2 is well worth installing as it's free, along with the original Tap Tap Revenge. Scrub that, I've just checked and the original version is 59p now for some reason Anyway, get Tap Tap Revenge 2

An app I'd definitely recommend if you want to save money is PandoraBox (it's free). It lets you check on all recently released apps (free or paid for), along with all recently price-reduced apps (again either now free, or less expensive than before). Many many apps including games are given a limited period promotion to boost popularity and raise their profile, before the price goes back up, and PandoraBox will help you grab it while it's free or cheaper.

Other games:
- Blimp (gorgeous looking and great soundtrack)
- Dropship (currently free)
- Doom Resurrection (first person shooter, if you like that kind of thing, currently on sale for £1.79 til tomorrow)

Touch Arcade is a good site for in depth reviews of games

I don't really go in for action games on the iTouch too much as I find the touch-screen doesn't work well for fast accurate input so I tend to go more for turn-based strategy, but I did have loads of fun this afternoon playing TowerMadness: 3D Tower Defense. It is reduced in price to 59p instead of the normal £1.79 today only (Saturday), but it was free yesterday (I downloaded it just before I went to sleep last night when I saw it listed on PandoraBox under On Sale -> Free, which is why I check the Sale section at least twice a day).

Thanks for the link to that site, I've just bookmarked it. I'll be keeping an eye on what they post regularly from now on.

forget exactly what its called, but the block sliding puzzle (similar to the roadblock puzzle game) is good - free versino has loads of levels - you have to move blocks in a limited area, to release the red trapped block

again, i forget exactly what its called. but another good puzzler is one where you have to move little crates in order let your man escape from a maze.

free versions have loads of levels to try.

I think this ones called "boxed in" and the full game is currently free.
